Ventured to GTA west yesterday to buy something off of FB Marketplace and decided to see what Burlington had to offer by way of Asian food. We thoroughly enjoyed a late lunch/early dinner at Sakai. We arrived at 4:30pm - optimal time before the dinner rush! We dined Omakase-style and were greeted by dish after dish of deliciousness. We began with tuna tataki, kalbi, and steak tartar - great balance of flavours, textures, and temperatures. It wasn’t until we got to the sushi...
Maki rolls were fine taste wise. However, they were pretty small in size, and the dynamite rolls had an unreasonable amount of rice and less filling. Water refill was also not offered, and the waitress was MIA for a bit.
I don't know how this restaurant only scores a 4.5! Dined there for the first time and was so impressed! Firstly, they managed to rearrange tables to accommodate us because they were full. They were all so helpful and friendly! Secondly, and most importantly, the food. From the complimentary kimchi and Korean tea, which was delicious, to the dumpling starter to the main course ... first class all the way. Fresh, tasty and great portion size and it all looked so healthy!...
