The Port House Social Bar & Kitchen Burlington

The restaurant was very nice, the server was also very nice although she forgot to grab us a couple things. The wait times are relatively long say 30 minutes to one hour. I think the place needs more staff due to a couple servers doing everything and is why people have to wait a long time. The people who sat next to us waited at least a hour and Noone came to them so they left without drinks or anything that was not good to see. Think just needs to be run better. I also work in hospitality so I know how tough things can get. Food quality is what I expected, nothing fancy just a decent meal. I'd come back.

Visited this place on July 12 and we paid less attention to the google reviews. Service was terrible we waited 15 plus minutes to get our beer and the place was not that crowded, no private event happening either.

Since we smoke we decided to give our credit card as a tab to the server name Chalsea almost 3-4 times in 2 hour time span. Horrible service provided by this server btw…. And guess what my partner’s card got compromised on July 16 to female fashion online store. He didn’t use his card to any other restaurant or bar except for this one.

Peeps be extremely careful while handing out your plastic as a tab… not a friendly or good place to visit and then later getting a fraud transaction on your account. And paying $20 on parking 😑

Got food to go so I can only comment on was I saw as far as the atmosphere goes. The patio was busy.
The vegetarian burger was very good. As was the actual meat burger. The fries seemed old. A bit pricier than other places but it is Burlington and you get a great view if you eat on the patio.

We had dinner tonight and food was delicious that being said the service is very lacking . Our server was very nice polite and helpful but took over 15 minutes for our first drink to come. Food was well paced no problem there. Second drink order again over 15 minutes. Very expensive drinks 3 Caesars $48.
Asked for the bill had to ask again.
As we sat at our table we watched servers and other staff look at a napkin on the floor then keep walking. It was at the entry to the patio right in the middle some even stepped over it. It was comical to watch. It was only picked up when I said something.
My husband had the steak Frites it was delicious. Calamari very tasty and plenty The view from.the patio out to the lake is the reason we stopped here.

Our server (Era I believe) was very pleasant and attentive. She was very quick to offer suggestions when things weren't available on the menu. The potential due to the great location and view of the water is huge. A little fine tuning would make this place a hit IMHO. Fixing the sticky door to the patio could be a start lol. Overall had a good time and the prices were competitive especially considering the location.

Arrived for a reservation at 6:30pm with a designated menu due to a group of 20. We waited almost 3 hours before we were served the main course and about 2 before we were served even the starters (soup/salad).
We had no updates in between letting us know about a delay, they just kept bringing out water/soda/drink refills.
When we finally got the food, it was yummy for the most part, the chicken and the salmon were overcooked and dry but had good flavour and the portions were quite small especially considering how many hours it took to serve us.
We were able to leave around 10:30pm!
Parking was an absolute nightmare as well, a summer evening on the waterfront was just nuts.
I would not go back here simply due to the lack of service and timing it took to be served.

I’ve never had a worse experience in my life. we were a table of three for my friends birthday lunch. As soon as we got there the glassware for water was disgustingly dirty with crumbs and lipstick in them. We ordered calamari and Cajun fries for apps the calamari was the only good food item we had. The cajun fries had a huge pile of hair and lint mixed in them. We had also order the fish and chips and two chicken burgers for our mains my friend’s burger had a beard hair on top of it as well which she just brushed off as she didn’t want to overwhelm the server. the chicken was extremely dry and our burgers weren’t even made with everything listed on the menu. As we were leaving we overheard multiple tables complaining about the same issues. Our sever (taller girl with black curly hair and a tooth gem) was the only good thing about our experience today. She was running around apologizing to everyone and checking up trying her best to help. She was extremely kind and helpful during our experience today and the only reason as to why we didn’t leave. The manager needs to get a reality check and learn how to actually manage a restaurant and take criticism. We heard him talking negatively about another table which we overheard the two ladies saying the sever was great as well it’s just a management and kitchen problem as well. We called to inform him about our experience which all he wanted to do was talk over us and put the blame on us instead of himself and kitchen. This place is a MAJOR health and safety issue. I will never come here again and strongly advise that others don’t.
