So I cannot give this place a higher rating. I have been going to the Thistle since I was a little girl, the food has always been excellent. Every. Single. Time.It's fast but the atmosphere is homey and cozy. I have not had any issues ever. I can't say that about any other restaurant I've ever been to.I get the halibut and chips and the portion sizes are generous. The owner is so friendly and present as are all the staff.If you're looking for your new favorite fish and chips shop, this is the place. I drive from London for this and leave satisfied every time!

Not quite as good as it used to be. Chips not as tasty. Fish a little more greasy.
The halibut is always tasty but the portions tonight were a big disappointment. 2 halibut and 1 chips yielded about a pound of fries and small portions of halibut for almost $33. They're not normally this small but tonight they were almost tiny in comparison to what you normally get from Thistle. The side orders I paid for helped but the bill was $50 for what you see. Not satisfied.

Lost a star on atmosphere... should have a proper bar... bah.. otherwize WOW.. awesome fish.. batter is just. Just..ive tasted chowder n chips from cape breton accross the country to the pacific coast.. been up n down the eastern seaboard.. a few times.. thats probly the best fish n batter ive EVER had! Light n crispy... just perfect! Chowder was good..kinda bland... needs something...

I'm not a fish person but the food a this establishment was awesome. The service was fast and the staff was very professional and friendly. The batter was perfect and I loved the hand-cut fries. I'm so glad we came across this hidden place. I highly recommend you try it. You will not be disappointed. I will definitely make the 4-hour trip from Leamington to Burlington again just to come here.
