“Great little place. I was looking for a chip truck in Carleton place. Saw this was 5-star rated so gave them a try. Be sure to try their secret sauce. The cart has been around since 1966 and was formerly a popcorn truck so they use the secret ingredient in popcorn on their fries. Simply brilliant! They do just the one thing but they do it right! If they want to expand maybe they should try offering baked potato toppings since they have a headstart with their secret ingredient. ;) Super friendly operators too. Be sure to stop!“

“Went in Thursday night. Ordered a whole chicken. It was cut up which was great. Only waited about 5 minutes. They've gone back to the plastic containers. The cardboard doesn't do well with chicken! Got home & extra leg was there plus 10 expensive chocolates. Must be a Thanksgiving special. Happy Thanksgiving to all Harvey's staff! ??? You were busy at 9:30 PM & still pleasant & quick service ? You know I'll be back soon.“

“Usually the best McDonald’s I go to, the few times I’ve had an issue it was immediately resolved, but I don’t know why today I asked the same guy twice for full fries and each time it was only marginally more full, it was also the first time an employee has taken back the thing that needed replacing and just topped it up which just seemed unhygienic, he didn’t know if I washed my hands or not before touching the bag he grabbed from me, after all that the fries still look low to me. I don’t know if it’s just me but if I’m spending $30 on a meal for two I’d like to not see the whole top of the container, or maybe just don’t go and barely top them up the first or second time? He saw that I was upset and I just frowned when he asked me if that was good before he immediately walked away, I never like confronting people just doing they jobs but I like to ask for help when I can, and everyone else here that I’ve asked for help from has been accommodating, but maybe not everyone has gotten the memo? I wouldn’t have even bother writing this but I don’t know how else to approach that kind of awkward situation over something that should have been trivial on McDonald’s side, but is pretty big for me, when this is a treat for once in awhile.

I want to change this review asap, since there isn’t an option to rate the average vs a singular interaction, I just hope this is an outlying event.“

“As an American visiting Canada, it can be a challenge to know where to stop to eat. Fortunately, having eaten at A&W in other areas I thought I knew what to expect. Amazingly I was actually surprised, as the menu is a bit different here, and is more reminiscent of days past, featuring items such as the "Teen Burger" and the most delicious onion rings I have ever eaten. I was uncertain if the U.S. border patrol would allow me to bring onion rings home, so I ate all I could there. For $5, these were like the "Bloomin Onion" at Outback Steakhouse. The burgers were great, and the drive-thru line never abated. Their AC was on the fritz (naturally with it being 95F and 100% humidity) but for the fact that I was getting a cold mug of rootbeer and the newest "Beyond Meat Burger", before heading home, I wasn't going anywhere else. The rootbeer here tastes slightly different, owing to Canadians not allowing Corn Syrup in anything, so be prepared for that. I actually prefer to buy my soda-pop supply up here, so I like it, but some may prefer the sweeter taste of American A&W to the less sweet Canadian version. The place was clean, the grounds were kept tidy, and the food came as ordered with fresh purple onions, and just really a nice place to visit (once the AC is fixed) They do offer free refills, they do it for you, and you get a new frosty mug each time, so that the first drink is the same as the last drink. I had my fill, then was very lucky that I was the only car crossing the border, 90 minutes away. FYI: It appears more expensive, and it is, but Canadian prices are 30% higher than American prices, so the $10 burger is really only $7 American. Just be sure and use a "Non-Foreign Transaction Fee" credit card such as "Discover" "Chase-Southwest" or similar. Also notify your bank before you leave the country, so your CC works when you get there.“
