Edward's Bistro is a rare thing - a truly family restaurant, owned by a family doing really good home cooking well. In the old Jade Gardens space, tastefully redecorated, my mom and I had chicken wings - breaded, crunchy with a bbq sauce on the side, perfectly medium-rare duck a l'orange (i went with the steamed rice), and a very rich lamb shank with nice mash. (Lots of nice looking steak going out to other tables.) All were really good for their price point, which was reasonable. The menu included some pastas and a bit of Filipino cuisine too, a bit eclectic. Rosie was lovely as the host/server, and her partner was the back of house in the fantastic old kitchen (I did get a little tour, asking about the Jade history). Thanks Edward's Bistro!

Couldn't make any other comments because we couldn't get in! Had 9:30 reservation (wasn't necessary btw). At 9:40 we called the restaurant asking if they were open. Owner/ manager said someone should be there and then suggested we go down the side alley to knock on the backdoor to be asked to be let in...would have tried it except for sketchy person hanging in the alley. Spinners around the block worked well for our breakfast needs.

Muriel and I were cooked an amazing breakfast. Rosie is a wonderful person who you can feel how much she loves her restaurant
The pizza was absolutely horrendous. I'm sure it was a frozen pizza crust, probably why it only comes in one size. The smokers platter was awful tasting,the only flavour was smoke. The dining room was empty at 6pm on a Friday, that was the first sign. I expected much better from the reviews I read.

Had very good friends from Ottawa visit last Sunday. We made reservations. Edward's Bistro did not disappoint. Rosi's spring rolls were delicious! The pizza was amazing and I've never had such a tasty chicken tetrazzini. The atmosphere was so relaxing and Rosi was so delightful. The lemon cheese cake was to die for! The food is fresh and the presentation is first class! Kudos to Jason, Rosi and Edward. Edward's Bistro has gained new patrons from Ottawa.
