“It was 9:30am when we googled ‘open restaurants now’, and it lead us to Zachary’s (after looking for some possible crown land campsites outside Dorset). The restaurant has been around for 42 years, and no wonder it has very homey feeling to it—the decor, rattan furnitures, the 70s music and that superb lake view! I can’t help but feeling nostalgic on what it was like to dine here four decades ago. The menu is simple. My hubs had toast, eggs & bacon + coffee. I had French toast and sausages + tea, the portions were not big and neither small—just perfect!We also ordered a prime rib burger to go, and it was amazing!The gentleman (owner) spends time to converse with the patrons, and the lady (owner) who cooked and served our breakfast was so sweet!It was our first time to come here and will never be the last. We will definitely coming back here in winter time.What made our experience here so special is that both my hubs and I thought that food was cooked and served WITH CARE! “You can never tell a book by its cover has never been more true here.Yes, it took a while to get served, but we weren’t in a rush.When the food came it was absolutely delicious - steak sandwich was a generous portion and cooked to perfection, veggie western sandwich was tasty, and I had the best sausage, chips, and beans I’ve had this side of The Pond.Give it a go when staying in or near Dwight.“
