Had some of the best seafood of my life here. The salmon was cooked to absolute perfection — tender, flaky, and full of flavor. The grilled calamari was beautifully seasoned and finished with generous olive oil and fresh parsley, exactly the way it should be done. The atmosphere is warm and relaxing, the kind of place where you lose track of time and don’t mind at all. I can’t believe I hadn’t discovered this Serbian gem sooner — I’ll definitely be back, and I’d recommend it to anyone who loves great food and an honest, unpretentious dining experience.

I've been here a few times and have been recommending the place to people who want to try Balkan food. Generally speaking, the food is tasty and the atmosphere relaxed.
However, in the 2 out of the few times I've been here, 1 time there was a hair in the salad and 1 time the price for the dessert in the menu didn't match the price we were charged. The waitress just said that their menus weren't updated with the new pricing and proceeded to charge the new (higher) price. Would have been fair to let us know before or charged us the price that was in the menu.

I gotta say, California Restaurant & Bar is the best spot in Toronto for genuine Balkan cuisine. I tried their Ćevapi (which I personally refer to as Kebapi) and they were truly authentic and tasted just like you'd find back in the motherland. If you're craving real nostalgic flavors, this place delivers. The quality of the ingredients and spices were excellent and the portions were generous. Definitely recommended for the overall value, calm atmosphere and professional service. Check them out! (Oh, and get some fresh bread and kajmak while your at it, trust me!)
