No nonsense pizza joint. People complaining are snobs. I’ve had the veal sandwich, chicken sandwich, and cheese pizza. All delicious. Fantastic prices too.

The owner John is super fun to deal with and completely delivered on his catering order. My 50th birthday party was a huge success and his food was very much responsible. I will always use Gianni's for my catering needs in the future, and look forward to their new location at St. Clair and O'Connor!

After seeing a video of the place online I decided to try it out. It works out perfect for me as it’s on the way home from work for me.
I called ahead and placed an order for a couple of veal sandwiches.
The sandwiches are like having two sandwiches from most other places. It was a big sandwich. Veal tasted very good and was tender. Not chewy at all. It came with the right amount of sauce. A bit messy still as I had mine with cheese, hot peppers and mushrooms. Excellent sandwich. Lives up to its award for having the best veal sandwich in Toronto.
And the owner, Nick, a very friendly person to talk to.
I would 100% come back for veal sandwiches but I think I will also try a pizza too next time.

Saw their veal sandwich on TikTok and had to try it. Absolutely delicious, one of the best I’ve ever had, and the owner is a great guy. The store is hidden behind Metrolinx construction barriers but worth checking out. Food is great, the owner is great, pricing is fair, I’ll definitely be back many times!

After watching a Tiktok review, we drove an hour to try their veal sandwiches but the place wasn’t open until 4pm. Perhaps update your website with the correct hours. Next time we are in the area, we will stop by again and amend our review accordingly.

Ordered the veal sandwich- takeout. Not authentic Italian veal on a bun. Ordered with sweet peppers and instead of entire peppers got diced peppers (scattering). Mushrooms and onions were not plentiful, bun was not an authentic Italian bun and they did patchwork with the veal. One thin slice and small pieces to fill voids. Major disappointment. Not recommended. Should have taken pictures.

A Symphony of Homemade Flavors at Gianni's, Culminating in an Unforgettable Bolognese
Gianni's Pasta + Italian Sandwich on Pape Avenue is more than just a local eatery; it's a culinary haven where tradition and taste intertwine beautifully.
Our recent visit was a testament to this, particularly with the Bolognese pasta taking center stage as a truly unforgettable dish. From the first forkful, it was clear this wasn't just any pasta; it was a labor of love, a rich and deeply satisfying homemade Bolognese meat sauce that evoked cherished childhood memories. The flavors were a symphony – the savory depth of slow-cooked meat, the subtle sweetness of tomatoes, and an aromatic blend of herbs that spoke of authentic Italian culinary heritage. Each ingredient sang in harmony, creating a comforting and profoundly flavorful experience that left us wanting more.
While the Bolognese was the star of the show, the Chicken Sandwich was a formidable contender for our affections and still reigns supreme as the best we've ever encountered.
This wasn't just a simple sandwich; it was a carefully constructed masterpiece.
Tender, perfectly cooked chicken was elevated by the earthy notes of sautéed mushrooms, the sweet and savory depth of caramelized onions, and a generous layer of melted cheese that pulled everything together in gooey perfection. To say it surpassed our expectations, even outshining the beloved California Sandwiches, is an understatement.
It was an explosion of textures and tastes that left a lasting impression.
For anyone seeking genuine Italian flavors, a taste of comforting nostalgia, and a chicken sandwich that sets a new gold standard, Gianni's on Pape Avenue is an absolute must-visit.
Be prepared for a meal that not only satisfies your hunger but also warms your soul.

Yesterday, we tried the lasagna, and the sauce was exceptional. We also had the pizza, which my toddler couldn't stop eating. Most importantly, the warm service made our experience enjoyable. It didn't matter if we waited two seconds or two minutes, they ensured we had a pleasant time while waiting for our order. We are definitely planning to come back!

I’ve tried to come here twice during the store hours, doors open, but says they are closed. Screw this place go to one of the Greek restaurants in the area instead.
