I went to Chubby's tonight. I haven't been there for over 30 years, and it was fantastic. I ordered 2 small halibut and chips and a banquet burger, and fries for me. The banquet burger had 3 slices of peameal bacon on it and was fantastic. What a great place. I will be going back soon.

I hate to complain honestly, but the fries were really bad.

The people were nice, the atmosphere is cool and retro, the fish was pretty decent but I felt like I was only eating a few of the chips to be polite. They were soggy, uncooked and tasted like dirty fishy oil. I can see from some other reviews that people are saying the fries were stale. Seems to be some inconsistency in the fry cooking. I think the owner really needs to do some quality control there...

Been going here for 30 years. Always hits the spot. Fish is fairly expensive but at least you know it’s always going to be good. Place needs a bit of an upgrade as it’s starting to feel a bit grimy. Side note: their homemade T-Rex burger is one of the best burgers in Toronto.
