Food was such ass ough
Great place for Japanese food, there is a reason it has been successful for over 40 years
loved the decor and vibe of the space. the food was tasty, and the service was good as well.
Nice restaurant, great service.
Japanese food way past sushi Kimura family keeps it real with quality meals across the board
An enjoyable and cozy Japanese restaurant. Excellent selection and great value.
We placed an order and waited 40 minutes for one “light” sushi set ($28) and one Chikara dinner set ($30), all while we were starving, only to be served incredibly disappointing food.
House Salad
The house salad that came with each course was overly salty.
“Light” Sushi Set
- The sushi rice was overly dense and lacked the sweet and tangy flavor of sushi vinegar. The salmon was fine, but the other fish were not fresh and had a strong fishy smell.
- The plate seemed unwashed, which I have attached a photo….
Chikara Dinner
- The Japanese fried chicken was soggy, neither crispy nor flavorful.
- The potato croquette had an excessively thick coating, which overpowered the filling.

I really didn’t have a nice exquisite japanese food experience like most of the reviews states and so didn’t my colleague. We both had the steak teriyaki bowl that disn’t have much flavor and texture wasn’t appealing at all. Kiao soup and salad were ok and service very quick

Had a great experience eating fresh sushi. Fresh uni from Japan was an absolute highlight, super creamy and not fishy.

This is the most authentic Japanese restaurant we tried in the entire North American, you can feel that they really make the food with their soul, we missed usuzukuri the other day and asked if the chef can make it cause it’s not on the menu, chef Kimura made it for us. We have been here to dine every other week.

Great service and fantastic authentic Japanese food. This is our family favorite.
Best sushi and Japanese food in Toronto. Ginko has been around for over 40 years, family owned and operated. By far the best Japanese restaurant. The food quality and taste is exceptional. Don't miss the hotate gai appetizer. Thanks for 35 years of amazing food.
