Mimico Bagel and Coffee

The lady behind the counter seems to have something against the world. She’s curt, impatient with zero customer service skills. I was not the only one she was rude to. Her demeanor was consistent with the others. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to come here unless you want to have your day ruined by someone’s rudeness. The food is below average with the presentation and display looking sad. The place is dated with average cleanliness.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I feel like I should say something in case it helps others. I’ve actually never had the chance to try the food here — and not for lack of trying. I’ve come by three separate times now, really wanting to try their breakfast sandwiches and bagels, but it just hasn’t worked out.

The first time, I checked online and it showed they were open, but when I pulled up, the place was fully closed — lights off, doors locked. I even tried calling a few times that day and no one picked up.

The second time, I went in, looked at the menu, took my time, and when I finally went to order, I was told they weren’t doing those items that day.

The third time, I asked again about the breakfast sandwich and was told only the owner/manager makes them — and she just hadn’t shown up. Apparently, she was supposed to come the day before and still hadn’t come in. I asked when I could come to actually get one, and the person at the front just said, “Honestly, I don’t know what to tell you. Maybe try again in a couple days?”

It’s frustrating because I really want to support this business and I still want to try the food — I’ve heard good things — but the inconsistency is discouraging. If you’re in a chill mood and just looking to maybe try something new, go for it. But if you’re coming with a specific craving or on a schedule, just be aware that it might not work out. I’m leaving this review just so people aren’t caught off guard like I was.

quick meal for good prices, only sad part is they have no hot sauce.

Waited almost 20 min for a BLT bagel to go and no one was there but me to order ! I get a soup and she don’t even put the proper lid on it for the soup to spill !!! Terrible service !! I sure won’t be going back

The owner is excellent. It's a very good value. Very much like you'd make at home, and priced well. Good coffee too!

A perfect neighbourhood bagel and coffee shop. The bagels are just perfect, reminds me of fresh bagel shops where I grew up in New England. Service is great, atmosphere is very family friendly. Prices are more than fair. Great spot to visit before or after a walk in the park!

I'm always telling everyone how great the bagels with cream cheese are, and their Irish cream coffee.

Great food, reasonable prices and absolutely fantastic service. Skip the heavy prices at the conglomerates and support local! It's a great breakfast stop.

Not the yummiest, but CERTAINLY worth the price. I would come here many more times whenever I need a cheap simple sandwich without feeling ripped off by post-COVID prices! Friendly staff and no-frills atmosphere

We need to start calling out things like this. Walked in on October to see this two tables standing & blocking the main counter. When asked why, told it's for 'social distancing'. When I pointed out it is now Fall 2024, the server replied: 'People still cough'.
There's many reasons to support an independent cafe - but I cannot patronize an establishment whose management primarily thinks of people as vectors of disease. If that's your attitude, you're in the wrong business.
