This neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. I moved in Mimico in 2022, had coffee from mimico coffee and bagel located opposite to the independent store. Be VERY ALERT WHEN BUYING EDIBLES, I have encountered so far two of their items expired and with the first incident that I reported to the girl who was working there, nothing happened. Next visit, another item was expired too, a lot of elderly people drink and eat there, I don’t think they check expiry dates. Please please check the expiry date before eating any of their packaged food items or cold drinks/beverages! This is deeply concerning that they sell expired items despite making complaint to them with the first. I am 100% sure that all of their other items must be expired and it is criminal offence to sell those, it could poison people esp our elderly people living in the neighbourhood. I am going to check back in a month or so if they are still carrying expired items, I will call food inspection agency or public health for sure. Meantime folks, be mindful and always check the expiry date! Hope it helps.

The bagels and coffee here are excellent, but the service needs significant improvement. There is an older Asian woman, who may be the owner, but she consistently comes across as rude and domineering to customers. Her manner of interaction often leaves much to be desired, as she tends to act as though we’re not paying customers. Unfortunately, this isn't an isolated incident; I've encountered this behavior multiple times, and several of my friends, who are also locals, have had similar experiences.

The other servers are quite pleasant, and it would be great if she could follow their example in providing more courteous service. It’s important to remember that the local community plays a crucial role in sustaining this business, and a respectful and welcoming atmosphere is essential.

Additionally, I suggest hiring more staff during peak hours to reduce wait times, as they can be quite lengthy. It might also be beneficial to have more team members who are fluent in English, as there is a perception among some of us that language barriers might be contributing to the perceived rudeness. Overall, enhancing the customer service experience would make this place even more enjoyable.

Really good coffee....Donuts...And...Bagels too!!....Owner and staff super nice!!....Butttt...Cookies are....Ummmm....Not always the freshest...Think it's due to not a lot of sales of them....

Recommended dishes: Everything Bagel with Butter, Smoked Salmon and Jalapeño Cream Cheese on Garlic Bagel

Love this place. Very authentic and local bagel place. The jalapeño cream cheese is amazing. I had the garlic bagel and the everything bagel. Both totally worth it. We actually traveled 20km to get this bagel. Looks totally like a neighborhood institution.

Extremely sketchy stretch of the Lakeshore. But, good coffee. Nice owner and excellent prices. Try the donuts! Better than Tim Hortons and better than the Krispy Kreme across the street. Just beware of the riff- raff.

90s gem. 10/10 bagels and drip coffee!

Food is ok. Prices ok too. Its hard to explain order to Lady & she speaks curtly & impolitely. I don't think I will go again or recommend it

Have tried to come here twice now on a Sunday and both times they been closed even though they say they are open on Google.

Tried it for the first time, there was a bug flying in the fridge where the cream cheese and veggies were. The lady was nice and helpful.
