Unreliable for you party / catering needs. Ordered & paid for a key lime pie 10 days ago for a birthday. Spoke to several staff by phone who confirmed the order as I told them it was the only thing that the birthday boy requested. They called me yesterday (the DAY OF the birthday party) to tell me I wouldn’t be getting my pie as the pastry chefs didn’t want / couldn’t make it. No compensation for the serious inconvenience was offered. They just refunded me and said too bad.
1. Shouldn’t your staff check upcoming orders?
2. How can people rely on you for weekend event catering/ pastries if 1 pie can’t get out for a weekday birthday?

I’ve been a customer of Sanremo for many years as has my family. What a disappointment to get a call like that the literal DAY OF a party.

Worth the drive. I thought $7.49 for the pistachio crema was overpriced considering the regular felt too small buuuut it's decadent. Worth the trip and worth the price. Pastries are always a hit. I think I preordered doughnuts a few years back. I noticed they were almost sold out by the time I arrived today around 1-2pm. I've yet to try their savory menu. I plan to pick up some deli slices and sandwiches next time.. or food at the hot bar. Great bakery. I recommend giving it a try.

SanRemo Bakery is a true gem in Etobicoke and one of the best bakeries in the city. The moment you walk in, the smell of fresh bread, pastries, and espresso hits you—and it’s hard not to want everything in sight. Their donuts and pastries are incredible, always fresh and full of flavour, and the hot table offers delicious Italian comfort food like pasta, veal, and panini that taste homemade.

The deli section is also impressive, with a wide selection of cheeses, meats, and fresh baked goods to take home. Portions are generous, and prices are fair considering the quality. The only downside is how busy it gets, especially on weekends—you’ll often find a lineup out the door. That said, the service is quick and staff are friendly, so the wait usually moves fast.

Overall, SanRemo is worth the hype and the lineup. Whether you’re grabbing coffee and a pastry, a full meal, or catering for a family gathering, it never disappoints.

Went here during lunch and you can tell it’s a local favorite. Around noon, expect to wait on a long but very fast moving line for hot food and sandwiches. I ordered donuts and pastries to-go at the bakery first and hot food line died down by the time we were done. My gf ordered a Mortadella sandwich on Focaccia bread which was incredible and I ordered a Pinsa Romana which was a delicious flatbread with cheese and tomatoes on top. We also shared the pizza which is made on very soft bread and with a great flavor. The food here is incredibly fresh as you can tell everything was made that day. They have a section just for freshly made bread- bagels, loafs, etc that you can order on a separate line from the bakery and hot food. We ate in their outdoor seating which is under an awning. They also have an order window in case you don’t want to go inside for coffee and drinks. We ended up ordering an Iced Chai latte and a Pistachio Cafe crema both of which were really good. I would certainly come back here again as everything we ordered was delicious and fresh. There is so much we will be coming back for.

Poor customer service. There has been a decline in quality over the last few years. We had a concern about the quality of an item that we addressed with a cashier who insisted on getting the manager, Sada, to speak with us. We were fine to just leave our feedback with the cashier and leave the bakery but the cashier insisted we speak to Sada before we left. We even witnessed one of the owners, Rob, telling the cashier to get Sada to speak with us. When Sada came out, she started yelling at us and berating us for not liking the item in question. We were shocked and appalled by this treatment. We proceeded to walk away and left the bakery. We are very disturbed that both the owners and management feel that yelling at customers is an appropriate way to handle customer feedback and concerns.

This place makes a seriously delicious sandwich. I had a focaccia + turkey and it was pillowy soft and crispy on the outside. The meat was plentiful.

The baked goods were just ok. I tried a key lime cannoli and a lemon bar. They weren't tart enough and the cream was quite dense.

The coffee was great. Very rich and smooth.

The atmosphere on a Tuesday around lunch was chaotic. It was very busy and there is too much back and forth between ordering and pickup stations. Lines are nuclear and customers are easily confused into standing in the wrong area thereby increasing wait times. A few impatient customers lost their cool in the short time I was there.
There are seating options outside.

Overall, I'd come back for the sandwich, but I'll order ahead of time and likely eat it somewhere else - too busy!

I witnessed a really disappointing and unprofessional interaction between a customer and the manager, Sada, during my visit. The way the situation was handled was shockingly rude and dismissive. As a bystander, it was uncomfortable to watch and definitely not the kind of behavior you'd expect from someone in a management position. It left a very negative impression and made me question the overall customer service standards here. Management should lead by example, and unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. I honestly lost interest in supporting a place where management treats people like that. Definitely expected better from a neighborhood bakery.

Unfortunately I am writing this review coz I don’t want others to go through the same.A year ago, They messed up my daughter’s custom cake.I called them and manager promised discount on my next order. When I returned to order cake for my son’s birthday this time (not custom as I can’t still trust them). The same manager (Sada)came out angry and defensive I know it’s her by the distinctive accent. She didn’t listen, didn’t look at the picture of cake and walked away mid -conversation saying “I can’t help, We have hundreds of people”. I understand that’s y m showing her cake photo and also offered her to show my bank transaction since I lost the receipt, but she ignored me and treated me like a liar.
She literally walk away and left me with no choice but to leave with teary eyes even though My son’s name is written on the cake already.
Instead she also bragged about her “30 yrs of experience” but if that means being rude, uncaring and arrogant, she needs to step aside for someone more compassionate and humble who knows how to deal with human. After reading other reviews about service, I don’t blame the staff- I’d lose patience too working under such a toxic manager.
Next time save you energy and money, go to Sobeys they have bigger cake, better taste for less money with friendly service and free candles.
Thanks for ruining both my kids birthday, Sanremo, NEVER AGAIN.

Be prepared to wait, but like many other great places for food, the wait is worth it. A rare gem in Toronto.

I’ve been a long-time customer of this bakery and have always appreciated the quality of their food and service in the past. Unfortunately, I’ve noticed a decline over the past few years, which has been disappointing.

During my most recent visit, we purchased a Maritozzi, which is something I’ve enjoyed here before. In the past, it was always made with fresh whipped cream and tasted amazing. This time, however, the cream tasted artificial, more like a whipped topping similar to Cool Whip. If that’s the case, it’s a noticeable change, and not one for the better. Fresh whipped cream makes a big difference in both taste and texture.

My sister and I spoke to a staff member (possibly named Sada) to share this feedback, but unfortunately, the conversation didn’t go well. The staff member insisted the cream was “real fresh 35% cream,” but the tone felt defensive and dismissive rather than open to constructive feedback. She then started creating a scene and was yelling at us. We had to remove ourselves from the situation as the yelling did not stop. That was disheartening, as we expected a more respectful and solution-focused response.

Additionally, the coffee we ordered didn’t taste as good as usual, it had a burnt flavor that was quite off-putting.

I used to be a loyal customer at Sanremo but this poor customer service and decline in quality has left a bad taste in my mouth. I won’t be returning to an establishment that yells at their customers 👎🏼

This place is awesome and sells the most delicious treats meant for sharing! I ordered a cake from here for my mom's birthday and the service was so friendly and easy. They are knowledgeable and kind and very efficient. Highly recommend trying this place out. The donuts are phenomenal and the staff are engaging.
