The Red Cardinal Tavern offers unexpectedly delicious food despite its unassuming appearance. Dishes like fish and chips are particularly enjoyable, and the portions are generous with reasonable prices. The menu is pretty consistent with fried pub fare. The coconut shrimp were tasty, but served in a very no frills way. The $0.99 weekend wings looked good, fat and juicy. The back room had a few screens where you could easily watch games. The place is wheelchair accessible. The atmosphere seems very nice and jovial. The service was extremely fast, with appetizers arriving within 5 minutes. The food was very good overall, with the onion soup, poutine, hamburger, and chicken stir fry tasting great. The staff were friendly and professional, and the servers were good sports. The Red Cardinal Tavern is a diamond in the rough with great food, service, and beverages. A visit here promises a satisfying meal and excellent service worth returning for.
