We didn't have a reservation but they were able to accommodate us. The restaurant itself is beautiful, very spacious with a wonderful patio. The food was excellent and service as well.
Delightful find for quality of food, service and atmosphere. We'll be back

Food is very good. Service is great!! And the outside sitting area is fantastic! Absolutely fantastic. Make a reservation if going for dinner or you won't get in because people know this place is great.

Absolutely great atmosphere, very attentionate waiters, great food. Couldn't recommend more! (the lemon cake and chocolate-orange ice cream are a must!). Compliments to Marina for the service and her patience.

Four of us ate at Riva on September 10th. Our friends who live in the area suggested it because back on the 12th of July they’d brought another couple and had a lovely meal. They recommended the sourdough bread and the Steak and Frites. We all 4 ordered the steak and frites and my husband and I ordered the sourdough bread to start.
First the sourdough bread came to us cold. When I asked the server if it could be heated, she seemed to think that it was a strange and unusual request but did take it back and returned with it warmed.
When the steaks arrived without exception our steaks were so tough that we all struggled to cut it up. 3 of us finished it because we didn’t want expensive meat going to waste. My husband for the first time in the 45 years together found he was unable to get through it all. Very disappointing!
Finally 3 of us decided to try the Crème Brûlée - a real favourite and treat. Another disappointment. The topping was not the correct one for traditional Crème Brûlée but seemed as though maple syrup had been heated and poured on, then refrigerated to harden into rock. We had to struggle to break into it. My friend gave up after one or two mouthfuls and returned it. Anyone who has eaten a traditional crème brûlée knows the topping is made by sprinkling granulated sugar on top and browning it with a torch.
Terrible meal that left us all feeling uncomfortably full but totally unsatisfied and disappointed.

Went to Riva on Saturday September 6th. before our play at the 1000 Island Play House. Simply amazing. The Restaurant, the Service, and the Food was stunning. Our server Malissa was great and was very helpful with suggestions and they have Play Dinner Specials also or off the menu. Just the whole night was great before a play. You should have a reservation as they are very busy and think it might be difficult just to walk in. Either as a before or after play you can't go wrong. Will see you again in November. Thank you for a great surprise and unbelievable meal.

The quality and taste of our meals this evening were simply outstanding. The steak was cooked to perfection and the pasta dish was flavoursome and my husband said it was the best Garganelli he had ever eaten. The cheesecake and tiramisu were clearly homemade and again, tasted amazing.
Special mention to our waitress Alyssa who was attentive and friendly without being instrusive, and we were treated with a smile and genuine customer service. She is a credit to the restaurant.
Thank you for a wonderful meal and a most enjoyable evening for our short stay in Gananoque.

We enjoyed a great family meal at Riva. There was a wonderful atmosphere sitting in the garden and both the food and service were excellent. We all had a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Great Food, but it comes at a Price.
We had 2 small Entrees (Nuts/Olives/Salami and Date-Salad) as well as 2 Seafood-Pastas (Linguine with Scampi and Mussels/Squid-Pasta) and 2 Beers and paid 160,- CAD (inclusive. Tax & average tipp).
Especially the Small entree salad (21,-) and the Pasta with 5 Medium sized Scampi (35,-) are not a fair Value for Money.
Again, the food is great, but don’t expect large servings.
Ambience and Service are top!
You have to make reservations, so we guess they can continue to ask these prices…
