Iskender Kebab House Turkish Cuisine

I can’t believe how small they made my small shawarma for over $10! The guy says it’s so good beef so he cuts me a piece to try from the stack (it was tasty) then he uses the old dry beef from the drop pan in my sandwich. Grrr, I should have walked out. Only one guy in the place. Give your customers fresh beef and throw out the old beef if you want return customers!! Costco is just across the street if you run out!!!!
Potatoes looked old, unseasoned and tasted flavourless. I asked for garlic on the side and he gives me a tiny container for a medium garlic potatoes? Don’t like the garlic sauce with gritty taste either.
This was my last time here.

Today, on my way back home I stopped in at the Iskender Kebab to pick up lunch.

This being my first time in a Shawarma eatery I actually ordered a small sandwich on Pita.
Even the last 2 pieces of baklava.

I found the cost of the sandwich and the 2 pieces of baklava expensive.

After I got to the bus stop I sat down and ate my sandwich it was tasty as was the baklava.

Off the chart good. Nice chat with the people, very nice young lady. The owner, my wife helped with the computer issue and he made us tea. Had the mixed Shwarma. Amazing.

Wished I lived in Ottawa for this. Oshawa not the hub of decent ethnic food.

Tried iskender and Adana recommended by the gentleman. Delicious, very balanced flavors of spices. Would definitely come again and highly recommend if you like Turkish cuisine

We were drawn in by the high reviews and really enjoyed our light lunch here. The “small” sandwiches required two pitas to contain the contents, which are rolled up and then lightly toasted. You choose the protein, spread, toppings, and sauces. Delicious! The garlic potatoes with spicy garlic were incrediblygood.

We just had a bad experience in this place! Owner was mistreating his female employee in front of us then arguing with her while she was preparing the food. Massive yelling and employee quitting right there!! The food was the worst we've ever had, shawarma was cold, chicken was dry, potatoes were stale, garlic sauce super salty, seriously no love in this food! And the worst part, it's more expensive than other places. Maybe we got a bad day, but seeing the other comments, it seems it's not an isolated occurrence.

Amazing food and service! The iskender kebab plate is supposed to be for one but filled us up both! The owner is very nice and generous and offered us complimentary tea.

The prices are high compared to the portions they provide. Taste of the food is not original as advertised and isn't always the freshest. On top of that there is a young skinny guy who's extremely rude to customers and even raises his voice at times. I've had him do this to me and watched him do it to others. Been there twice and never wasting my money again or need to support a business that has such little appreciation of their paying customers.
