I’ve never been told to stop laughing too much at a comedy show…. Honestly shocked at the experience…. Left in the middle of the show because the host left me and my friends so embarrassed. His name was Lucas, actually told us we were laughing too much during a comedy show. Unreal.
It was my cousin‘s first comedy show, and she was actually being heckled on a positive note by the female comedian, and while she was responding, the host actually told her to stop talking to the comedian, Lucas, you were the biggest joke of the night.

But the actual comedians were hilarious!! especially the female probably one of the best I’ve ever seen.
Tryout fixed-gear next time!! Way better atmosphere and acceptance for all types of laughter and self expression.

Great job girl!!

We came to the Albion for our run club and normally just get a beer but we saw the salmon sausage on the menu and it sounded so interesting we had to try it. It came with really delicious house made potato chips. The sausage was more like baked salmon than a sausage texture but the flavour was good but I think I prefer a normal sausage.
I really love the vibe of the place and the servers are so friendly and welcoming.

Our server with the beard and the ponytail was the kindest guy. Very sweet and helpful with our orders. This made our night after a shakey start! Thank you.

What a gem! We loved the vintage atmosphere which felt very authentic and friendly - we were in the main floor. Enjoyed chatting with the bartender, Devan, who made excellent drinks. It was chill and unique. We'll definitely be back. Comedy night upstairs sounded like fun and a good date night for another night. Next time I'll take photos to share.

The owners have done great work in revamping the interior and giving the bar a speakeasy feel. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the servers and staff are very hospitable and helpful.

I found the food generally enjoyable, but some items seemed on the pricey side. E.g., the linguine is $29 without meat, or $40 with chicken. While I didn't get a cocktail, they sound appealing, and I hope to return for one in the future.

The Albion team hosted our family as we celebrated our mom's birthday. Great drinks and great company. Genuinely the perfect place for all people to enjoy an evening out. Thank you to everyone for the experience.
Aaron, your kindness has left a lasting impression on us. The world needs more people like you. Albion, you should be proud.
Love, the Rolland Family. Xo

The Albion as it is now will not survive. Yes, I appreciate it was an expensive undertaking, that Covid intervened, and it is likely now running at a loss. But Guelph does not want gimmicks, particularly expensive gimmicks. It wants, above all, authenticity, ease and value. Like most of the city, and certainly every University student, I was a regular at the old Albion. Pints and burgers and on occasion antojitos, which were by far the best in town. You didn’t have to worry or even think about what you were wearing. You would often be joined by people at the next table, pulling theirs up to yours and end up having a great deep-or-shallow conversation. You didn’t feel watched or hovered over or afraid to spill a tiny bit of beer, You instead absorbed the happy atmosphere and tradition of long-ago students and Guelphites doing the same thing. My aunt patronised the Albion in the pre-war years, when women and escorts— or even ALONE!—used one side and men alone used the other. Imagine the astonishment any of those previous denizens would feel if they were told there was no beer and that perhaps they’d prefer someplace low-end more suited to their plebeian tastes? If the Albion actually WANTS to survive, the owner will have to adapt his grandiose ambitions to the tastes of a humble and historic town…, or perhaps move them to Toronto.

That meal was incredible!! Literally that menu is small (I'm sure just for now) but mighty! We had the hummas and burgers with poutine and truffle fries and it was easily some of the best food we have had ever!! The service was amazing and if I wasn't so full I would be super excited to turn around and head back for another round. Absolutely delicious!!!

Firstly, the atmosphere of this place is flawless. It is amazingly well decorated with a vintage, speakeasy vibe and it is a wonderful space to hang out and have some drinks. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating. Everyone we interacted with was personable and they made us feel welcome.

However, the food prices seem a little high for the offerings. The burger was $26 and the meatless pasta was $29. The food was very good though. The cocktail prices are also a little high but with the unique cocktail offerings, they are comparable to other higher end restaurants in town. With these higher prices, this is not a casual hangout spot to have multiple drinks with friends. It seems more like a high end date night spot for special occasions.

One of the best burgers I've ever had. The atmosphere is incredible, making me feel like I'd been transported back in time. Service was dedicated and personable. A gem in the heart of downtown.

I was there last night for a comedy show. We were downstairs at first had a couple things on the menu...nothing stood out to me to eat there. If anything the pasta but for 30 bucks for oil and garlic...ridiculous! The atmosphere was nice i will say i did enjoy that part. The staff was a bit odd...asked us if we settled our bill as we came upstairs found it a little off putting. You could have asked the woman at the desk...first. as the place wasn't packed at all. In a way I understand but off putting...the alcohol was watered down. Even the comedian said so. So I know it wasn't just me. Which led me to not order anything else.
