One of the best restaurants in Guelph and gorgeous historic building absolutely destroyed by someone who has a reputation for being one of the worst employers in the restaurant industry. I've only ever seen the place open for about 1 week in the past few years.... I can't believe someone would take one of the most popular places in Guelph and turn into some overpriced pretentious cocktail bar that is just a copy cat job of 2 other places already downtown (Spring Mill and Gin Mill) try being original at least..... I think all the previous reviews in the last year speak for themselves. Please sell this to someone that actually cares about Guelph and values the history of it.

Visited the Albion again for the first time since it reopened under new ownership. $9 draft! Was excited they now offered wings. Ordered a lb of spicy wings with blue cheese dressing. Dressing was good but wings were awful. Wait staff replaced my wings with a new batch but not much better. Wings were overcooked and not spicy. Have been an Albion customer for 35 years. Don't know if I'll go back.This is my old 5 star review.The place is old and dated but that is the charm. No pretences. Cold beer and good food!

My husband and I were hoping to go to The Albion for our anniversary this year as we have heard amazing things about the food and keep meaning to go, but never had a chance. Not too sure what is going on with the business, but Google says they're supposed to be open, however both the phoneline and website are down, while their Facebook page says they are open? Not too sure what's going on.

This place has great atmosphere and staff. The wine was really expensive ($17 for a 9oz Pinot noir). The bbq cauliflower was amazing, I had it as an appetizer. When the meal came and it tasted like standard low quality pub fare. We had the turkey club and Buddah bowl. In the Buddah bowl, the avocado was served rock solid, I couldn't pierce it with a fork. The avocado was was quickly replaced when I pointed it out. For the price and style of restaurant I expected better quality food.

Probably haunted. Met a guy on the patio who claimed he could channel God through his prayers and caused an avalanche by calling for divine action. We talked about cycling marathons.Great drink selection.

Get there before 5 pm on Fridays so that you can get a seat.At 5 pm there is self serve mussels usually in one f two sauces aailable.Includes pieces of bagette.FREE !!! Then order the $ 5.00 burger that comes with fries or salad or a mix.These burgers are made from fresh beef. The staff,service and atmosphere are terrific

The server was attentive and the food fine, but not outstanding. I suppose the place was comfortable and nice enough, but still a bar and not a place I would personally choose to eat. Just don't live endorsing a place where people come to waste their money and life getting drunk. ?

Absolutely love the burgers , veggie and beef !! The veggie burgers are fabulous homemade patties and I trust my 16 year olds opinion that the beef burgers are just as good !! Also love the fact that they will do 1/2 fries and salad ! Great atmosphere and a good evening out for family , couples or friends!
