Dinner for 2 menu was great value and excellent food! Our waiter Dawson was excellent! Thinking about going back soon....,,,
Awesome food and wine and gluten free options yummy can't wait to go again ... Great service .
The food was excellent. Our server was friendly and polite, though a bit inexperienced. The restaurant was nearly empty on a Saturday night, which unfortunately left it lacking in atmosphere.
The food was delicious - the eggplant and fish were our top highlights. The atmosphere was lively and good for a celebratory dinner.
I really enjoy Berkeley North . It has a great feel and the staff is very friendly and the food top notch
Incredible food, even better service. Team is phenomenal and made us feel right at home. The highlight of the day for us was the steak, it was perfect. Thanks for the awesome night!
Food was meh, was expecting a bit more over but the servers were nice.
Berkeley North brings a creative, seasonal flair to downtown Hamilton, and while not every dish hit the mark, there’s enough promise here to warrant a return.
We opened with the Mushroom Dumplings — easily the highlight of the night. Rich, savory, and balanced with just the right kick from the chili oil, they’re a must-order (10/10). The Tuna Crudo followed with a refreshing citrus ponzu that brought the dish to life — light, clean, and enjoyable.
The Gnocchi, on the other hand, missed the mark for me. Despite the menu’s promise of roasted squash and pork, the dish lacked seasoning and came across bland (5/10). The Rainbow Trout helped bring things back with a well-cooked fillet, artful presentation, and a flavorful Aji Amarillo pepper sauce
simple, but satisfying.
We also added a side of fries, and they were surprisingly good crispy, well-seasoned, and perfect for sharing.
Service & Setting:
The atmosphere is vibrant yet relaxed, with a kitchen that clearly values local ingredients and visual presentation. Service was smooth and professional throughout.
Final Take:
Berkeley North has undeniable potential. While one dish didn’t quite land, others truly delivered and I’ll be back to explore more of the menu. If the rest is anything like the dumplings, there’s a lot worth coming back for.
I was expecting so much more from this place after seeing 👀 their 2024 Michelin
award. It was okay but definitely was not what we expected. We got stale bread with our 1st course, we asked about it but they said that's how it is. It was not just crunchy but definitely stale. I will say that the Cornish Hen was absolutely excellent as were the potatoes that came with it. The cucumber salad lacked flavour.
We just love this place and the owner so much! It’s such a welcoming ambiance and the food is always fresh & fantastic!

Highly awarded restaurant worthy of all its awards. Staff are very friendly. The food is amazing. The teriyaki eggplant is a unique item and very tasty. The sourdough with fresh cheese smells and tastes amazing. The gnocchi just melts in your mouth and is made in house. You can taste the fresh quality ingredients. All the flavours work so well. Clean facility. Nicely decorated. Great atmosphere. Patio available. Free WiFi. No credit card surcharge. Prices can be a little better for the portion.
Ordered a $26 lunch as a pick up order- the Club sandwich and side Caesar salad. The lettuce in my salad was brown, wilted and very unappetizing. The sandwich bread slices were also overly toasted and tasted burnt. I emailed the restaurant with my concern and got zero response or acknowledgement. Not impressed and certainly won't be ordering again.
Had my birthday dinner here, everything was perfect and the service was the best , all the staff is amazing. Definitely a come back for me when visiting Hamilton again.
Went in on a Monday and they were clearly understaffed. Our waiter was friendly and took our cocktail orders and then had to make them by himself before taking our food order, which took about 20 minutes. When executed our cocktails, they all tasted medicinal and unpleasant. We decided we wanted to dine elsewhere and didn't have our drinks, yet we were still charged fur them (around $70). For a Michelin recognized establishment, the experience was very poor. Too bad, the menu looked incredible
We went for the Taste of BN for my birthday and it was a lovely meal - We were so full! Everything was cooked to perfection and each dish was beautifully presented with attention to detail!
