Conversate Steak and Seafood

My wife and I had a great meal at Conversate. We hadn't been for a while, it was nice to see it hasn't changed. Loved the entertainment

Loved eating here. Definitely will be back. Our server Alicia was attentive but not intrusive. She was also friendly and helpful. Food was incredible.

our server was great, she was very helpful and attentive she was very knowledgeable answered evey question we had and made some great menu suggestions wish I could remember her name our reservation was at 4:45 she was great the food was great the steak was exactly medium very tender, lobster tail was cooked to perfection, the scallops and salad were great aswell we will be back. Our server Maria was incredible and very attentive. We were celebrating my mother's 65th birthday and she helped make for a great dining experience. The food was delicious and paced perfectly as courses.

Our food was very disappointing. The steak with the surf and turf was overcooked, burnt on edges, and had no flavour. Beef Wellington pastry was overcooked and again flavourless, the sauce on the shrimp pasta was way too much. The pasta was swimming in it. Crab cakes reminded us of something taken from a freezer and put in an air fryer. Definitely not hand made. Very disappointing meal. Our meals definitely did NOT give the impression that they were prepared by a chef who has a love of food and flavours. Sadly the price you pay gives you the impression that is what you will receive, but it was definitely not our experience. The one thing we did have that made you think that it was prepared by a chef who aims to please and has a desire to bring the right balance of flavours and taste to food was the French onion soup. It was the best we have ever had and I would probably say better than we have had in Quebec. Which says a lot because we have had some phenomenal French onion soups during our trips to Quebec. The other thing we enjoyed was the live musician. He was excellent and very enjoyable to listen to as we dined. In summary, we would not return and would not recommend.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Conversate Steak and Seafood and can confidently say it's one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The food was outstanding—especially the steak. It was cooked perfectly, incredibly tender, and packed with so much flavour. You can truly taste the quality, and it was absolutely worth the price. It's rare to find a steak that memorable, and this one easily stands out as one of the best I've had in years. Our server made the evening even better. She was attentive without being overbearing and checked in with us multiple times throughout the night to make sure everything was perfect. She was knowledgeable, offered great recommendations, and was extremely accommodating to our needs. You could tell she genuinely cared about our experience, which made the night feel relaxed and enjoyable. The atmosphere of the restaurant was another highlight. It was comfortable, quiet, and inviting—perfect for a date night or a special evening out where you want to enjoy good conversation and great food without feeling rushed or overwhelmed by noise. Everything about the space felt thoughtfully designed to create a calm and enjoyable dining experience. Overall, Conversate Steak and Seafood truly delivers on quality, service, and atmosphere. It's a restaurant that lives up to its reputation, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional meal. We will absolutely be returning and can't wait to dine here again.

I want to try converse eight for my first time last night. It was a cute and cozy spot in the heart of downtown Hamilton. We started with the oysters, which were absolutely delicious. I love the smoked seafood sauce. We then paired it with Caesar salad which I shared with my partner, and I love that they split it for you before they served it. We also ordered the scallops on the pork belly, which did not come hot. Then we finished off with the porterhouse a side of mashed potatoes, which were delicious , a side of brussels sprouts and the onion rings. The sides came out warm  we had a wish they were piping hot because the steak was also warm. I would not recommend the onion rings. Something about the batter seemed off. I did hear a couple saying that the mac & cheese was really good. I wish I had tried that. The homemade gelato was absolutely amazing. We got the Dubai chocolate and the mascarpone highly recommend those.

I celebrated my birthday at Conversate Steak and Seafood, and the experience was outstanding. The service, food, and ambience were all excellent. I was especially touched by the dessert moment — although I was told the peaches couldn't be swapped for strawberries, my dessert arrived with both strawberries and peaches, along with a candle. It was a thoughtful surprise and truly the highlight of my evening.

My wife and I enjoyed a very pleasant meal at this restaurant for her birthday. Food and service was excellent, many options to choose from on the menu, extremely well presented and very tasty. We will go again. 

Outstanding experience in every respect. Excellent food, pleasant and comfortable atmosphere, all the staff were very friendly and helpful, and our server was an absolute gem.

Last night was our first time and I must say the overall service was amazing. Kudos to the chef because I and my friends had the best mashed potato yesterday for the first time in Canada.

Amazing service. Our server was impeccable. Food was incredible! Perfect portions. Pricey, but worth it. Oysters were perfect.
