I am visiting Hamilton for the week and was thrilled tonight stumble upon Democracy. I got the waffle burger and a strawberry tea lemonade. As I watched people of all ages come in and out, it was clear this is a great spot that the community loves. The food was spectacular! One of the best vegan meals I have ever had! Whoever is the cook here knows what they are doing. I will most certainly be back if I have time.
I am giving 3 because the service was good but the food was not that good. My partner had the pizza and he was not happy about it. Dough was not good and had a lot of pickles for a big mac flavour pizza. He did not like the dough either. I had their spinach dip and it was watery and not a lot of flavour. ☹️maybe the other food in the menu is good. This is our experience.
It was amazing to find this delicious all vegan restaurant in an adorable neighborhood! The just egg sandwiches were a big treat for the kids, and the cauliflower wings, and on the lighter side we got a tempeh BLT and the edamame avocado toast . wish we could have stayed all day ha ha! The brunch menu on weekends is a little different, we were actually hoping for more lunch type salad fare but it turned out great anyway. Lovely space and excellent service too Highly highly...
