service is really great, food is generally horrendous, so in the end it kind of balances out. that being said i would recommend the ice cream. also if you are walking past the side of the building you might want to cross the street if you don’t enjoy the smell of rotting fish.
We usually go to the main hutchs down by the beach, but we were at Jackson Square so we decided to try this one. Fish was ok, half of the one piece of fish was hollow, just batter. Inside the restaurant there was no air conditioning, just a fan blowing and a very fowl smell being circulated. While we waited for our food, an employee was cleaning the floor with a bucket of strong smelling solution and mop. This just added to the already very bad smell. No one should ever clean...
Outside looks rough and smells like pee. Inside needs an update and a deep cleaning. But the food is actually really good. Not at all comparable to the other location, but definitely better than most options in the area for fish and chips. Staff are a hit or miss, sometimes they are so polite and kind, rarely you might get a ride person who makes you feel a certain way, but good ice cream still.
