The French was an awesome spot in downtown Hamilton. The French onion soup was piping hot, and had a crispy/melty cheese topping. The Gnocchi was also creamy and amazing. Would recommend to anyone!

Every time I’m in Hamilton, I can’t not come here for a Parisian style dining experience. I’ve been here numerous times and would highly recommend their quality of food, the menu, their friendly and sincere service, and the cool atmosphere. I’ve only come here for dinner but today I am here for lunch… and the croque is very delicious! Thanks for maintaining a consistently great vibe and scrumptiously tasting food!!! And your wine selection is top notch as well 🍷

We celebrated a family gathering at The French this past Sunday and had a wonderful experience. The food was a solid 8/10, the service was a perfect 10/10, and the atmosphere was cozy and intimate—ideal for conversation.
I usually take photos of all our dishes, but I was too hungry this time and only managed to snap a few pictures of dessert! The crème brûlée was absolutely top tier, while the carrot cake was just okay.
For dinner, we ordered the croquettes, oysters, striploin, flat iron steak, burger, and gnocchi. Surprisingly, the burger and flat iron were my favourites—you could really tell they were thoughtfully marinated and cooked to tender perfection. Typically I would rate the food 10/10 but for the price point I thought it could’ve been better.
A special shoutout to our server, Maddie, who was incredibly kind and knowledgeable about the menu, making our evening even more enjoyable. Thank you again—we’ll definitely be back!

My all-time favourite Hamilton restaurant. The food is fantastic and delightfully prepared. Service is friendly and welcoming and my girlfriend and I both love the lively and friendly atmosphere. Plus, the patio is one of our favourite places in summer! We’ve always enjoyed a top-notch experience here and I highly recommend the French!
