The Grilled Cheese Hideaway

Horribly rude and curt . Asked, as I was on my lunch break and just want to see about timing . First guy rudely said 10 then changed to 20 then the other guy cooking was like everyone has to wait for food and made a comment to the other guy . I was there with my kid and even she commented on how rude they were for absolutely no reason . I was polite and friendly and come from a food back ground as my parents also owned a restaurant . I’ve heard he’s rude and a lot of people choose to go elsewhere ! Now I understand why . It’s probably why they had 1 person in there ! Never go back. I also now have been told the food sucks too so glad they were rude ! Didn’t waste my money .

Glad I chose this place over subway. Delicious and creative sandwiches that leave you satisfied and full. Apple chutney was incredible and paired wonderfully with the tomato soup. Atmosphere was inviting-lovely plants and music. Owner was awesome!
We will be back here :)

Food was great! But the service wasn’t. They weren’t overly friendly. Very direct, to the point. Didn’t smile. They could up their game in the service department! Took food to go as they didn’t have a high chair.

Actually was able to order by phone from across the street, then pick up the yummy sandwiches and eat at a picnic table at the Old dog Brewery patio while enjoying sime tasty suds. Such delicious grilled cheese.

Have been coming here for about 10 years. Grilled cheeses and soups are always amazing. The owners are lovely people. Highly recommend.

This place is a serious hidden gem! The core menu and specials are always ridiculously good, and the portions are huge. The quirky decor makes me happy too. A must for lunch on the way up to the cottage.

Rude and curt. Going to a restaurant is largely about service which this place is lacking.
Lots of other nicer and more pleasant restaurants to go to in this town. This hideaway should stay hidden.

Stumbled upon this place and who doesn't love grilled cheese! All of the options sounded so good and we were super happy with our food!

Sandwich was Amazing!! Staff was super nice and patient while I debated on what to get, and was happy to leave the tomato off.Can’t wait to go back when I have more time so I can try the soup as well.

The Great Northern sounds a little weird on paper (apple chutney?) but I'm glad I tried it because now I won't order anything else. We've tried the tomato soup before too and also liked it. Great lunch spot!

5 stars across the board. I LOVE this place. Whenever I visit my friend in town I stop in. My favourite is the total meltdown sandwich which is an upgrade on a classic. I pair it with a bowl of tomato soup which is incredible. High quality, creative specials and the best soups.
