Not our first visit. Such a great place. Atmosphere, food , service all 10/10. Such a cozy little spot. The food is incredible for the price point and the service is well above average.

Knowing that Heart's Tavern is owned by the same people as Union on Ossington, I knew that this place was going to deliver and it certainly did. Heart's menu was a near mirror image of Union; not a bad thing, but a smidge disappointing. They had some wonderful specials available that leaned into seafood, so that was a great balance to an otherwise meat forward menu.
The feature beet salad was fresh, clean, and a pleasant start. The salmon crudo special was an elegant appetizer who's chili oil offered a nice punch that would've been better accompanied by some larger citrus segments than the ones offered.
Birthday girl was intrigued by the sticky ribs, so we ordered those alongside the classic Tavern salad. I hadn't had the Union ribs in well over a decade, so I was excited we opted for them. Fall off the bone, nice and sauced, they hit the spot. The accompanying fries and slaw were perfectly done. The Tavern salad was generous with the bacon lardons and blue cheese wedge, but ironically lacking in the greens.
The by the glass wine list was so well curated. The light Lambrusco was a star, and my dry Rosé an equal friend. The Chenin Blanc paired incredibly well with the mains.
Finished off with their warm Ginger cake and caramel for dessert. The right amount of ginger zing was well appreciated. The warmth of the sauce and melting whipped cream was a cozy end to our evening. A shame it didn't come with a candle as we had noted it was a birthday dinner in the reservation system.
We were warmly greeted upon arrival, well attended to by the front of house team, and didn't feel rushed for what appeared to by a very busy Saturday evening dinner service. When you walk in the large half wrap bar and it's high stools are opposite the open kitchen. One window adjacent, large format table is all the other seating for that room. It's a cool vibe with welcome bright lights. They have 3 other dining areas(rooms) in the back where all the tables and chairs are. It's a little awkward of a set up in that regard, as you feel cut off from the space as a whole. However it did make for some solid semi-private dining for what looked like to be 2 larger parties that were there that evening.
We were visiting Grey County this weekend and were very excited to go to Heart's Tavern for a celebratory Saturday dinner. We had a wonderful time, and are already planning a return trip to the area for Spring 2026. We will definitely return for some new seasonal fair, and hopefully sit on the patio.
Bravo!

Interesting place in the middle of ....not much however I live around the corner. Cool atmosphere. Very interactive staff. Just a glass and french fries at the bar for me. Really good. I can see why it's so popular.

This restaurant is nice but not for me. The ambience is excellent, both indoor and outdoor. Food options are limited, some dishes taste strange for me. The service is quite good but it is not a come again.

The oysters were super fresh and delicious, and the smash burger was amazing – juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Great service and a nice atmosphere. I’d definitely come back!

Second and probably last time eating here. Mediocre, expensive raw roast beef with undercooked yorkies accompanied by a mostly raw spinach side. Slow service (over an hour for the mains). Not worth the $$$. I can cook better than this.
