This was the best ramen I have had outside of Japan. I highly recommend it to anyone and if I am back in Kingston again I will return for sure.

Lovely spot to grab a bite. I have only ordered from here once, but it was absolutely delicious and there was a lot of food for the price. I did not dine in, but the restaurant has a super cozy feel.
The restaurant offers quite a bit of choice on their menu including bento box lunches. These come with a small rice, veggie tempura, miso soup, edamame, along with your choice of a roll or sushi as an extra side. As I ordered online through the website I was only given the choice of a california roll, but they do offer spicy salmon as well if you dine in.
The food was fresh and tasted great! I got the grilled chicken as my main but there is a ton of other choices available. Before taxes and gratuity my meal was only $20. The different varieties of bento boxes have different costs of course with sashimi being the most expensive.
I would definitely order from here again and will definitely be dining in whenever I get the chance.

Highly recommended. Our first visit to SHUROOP was amazing 😍🥰. Our server TI was so amazing and cheerful. Service as well as atmosphere was pleasant. 🍣 Sushi and 🍜 was full of taste. Star dish was 🍨 shuroop. Must visit with your love once when you are around Kingston downtown.

We visited for the first time today and were genuinely impressed! The staff were incredibly welcoming, and our server Ty was an absolute gem!! She was always cheerful and attentive, with a warm smile throughout the evening.
The food was outstanding! Every dish, from sushi to the perfectly cooked Teriyaki chicken, was a delight. But the true highlight of the night was the dessert named Shuroop. It was nothing short of spectacular! Rich, indulgent, and beautifully presented, it stole the show.
This place is a must-visit in Kingston. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience! ♥️✨

We dined here last year and had such a great experience that it earned a five-star rating, and we’re happy to say that our return visit this year only reinforced that impression.
We ordered the bento boxes, which were excellent. They arrived beautifully presented on unique dishware, with generous portions and high-quality, flavourful ingredients.
The menu is extensive, so there’s something for everyone.
Service was also a highlight: attentive, warm, and genuinely friendly. The staff made the experience feel personal and welcoming.
All around, a fantastic spot. I’d highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Kingston and looking for casual, high-quality Japanese food.

I went to this place after a recommendation from my friend. Really looking forward to hype. As soon as we went in, and placed our orders, the server came to us 20 minutes after to confirm our order, which made no sense. Then we got a dish which we never ordered. We asked for the utensils the server said they will provide and had to follow up with them 2-3 times to get a basic utensils. Then we ordered sushi, it took them 20 minutes just to give us sushi but never gave us either miso soup and soy sauce that’s the basic courtesy in any sushi restaurant. The service was so bad, the food is. Incorrect and would love to give them a 0 for service which is for sure. Really bad experience and also went back hungry.

Waitress spent her time chatting to customers while I waited almost 30 minutes for my pick up order (30 minutes past when I was told it would be done). Turns out the order was ready but just wasn’t brought over to me meaning it sat the whole time and I waited for no reason. Got home to barely warm and mushy food. Based on this, I won’t be back.

This spot looked quite promising but I feel like it falls a bit flat. Despite only having only 6 or 7 tables food took about an hour to get out to us, and while it looked like a busier time for them, the couple beside us ordered shortly after we did and didn't have food by the time we paid and left. The ramen was alright, good flavour but nothing particularly inspiring, and the bento box was a good portion and crispy shrimp but nothing spectacular. It feels like they try to have a diverse and expansive menu, but as a result they don't do any one thing quite well. We didn't try any sushi, so we can't speak to that. Not a bad experience for us, but there are better places to go.
The owner did point out they have multiple chicken options - that's my mistake and I correct my review. However, I'm confident we waited at least 45-50 minutes for the food to hit our table. I get that not every night might be like that, but that was our experience when we visited.
