“If you're looking for pub style food while passing through Kirkland Lake, the Fed Downtown is worthy of consideration. The food is modest but tasty, the service is warm and friendly and the atmosphere is cozy and rustic.

The menu features many typical country pub foods. Of special note are the chicken wings which they are known for by the locals, with many flavorful options available. They have specials on Thursday evenings for the wings. There are also surprisingly several healthier options including a selection of bowls that have extremely generous portion sizes and offer great value.

While the food might not win any Michelin stars or outstanding reviews in Food & Wine magazine, it is tasty, home style comfort food that also offers good value on many options.

The waitresses were warm and welcoming and I would definitely return if ever my path takes me through Kirkland Lake again.“
