Love this place! Coffee is the best and it’s a nice place to sit and study for hours. They definitely need to turn up the heat, my friends and I are freezing in here all the time and we always leave to go somewhere warmer. It’d be nice to stay here for longer but it just gets too cold.

A really great community hub and they always have tasty seasonal drinks and baked goods. Cool building if you've never been. Staff are super efficient and always pleasant (especially given it's a stressful and fast-paced role). I find myself coming back here every time I'm in Kitchener.

Took my daughter and grandaughter to Balzac’s for a specialty coffee. I had the Mocha. It was great as always. Staff are always very friendly and the atmosphere is good. We always enjoy our visit when we go.

i got the chai latte, friend got the gingerbread latte (decaf), and other friend got another latte i can’t remember the flavour. none of us liked our lattes😭 it was sad. the pastries were ok, nothing special. there are much much better cafes to go to in downtown kitchener where you’ll actually feel good about spending $10 on a coffee and pastry, and where the baristas are nice and welcoming and the pastries are actually fresh and unique. (lucero, clementina, matter of taste, whoopsie daisy- these are all way better cafes)

The coffee was so good that I actually felt justified spending 5.65 on it. Very fancy establishment and I got to feel upper class for 5 minutes. If you want to feel like a rich yuppie for like 15 minutes go on in, the caffeine great. (Edit) I went back there and ordered the same thing, a cortado expresso. The cup with filled less than halfway and I asked is it always like this and the girl lied to me and said it was. Hun I was there 2 days ago and ordered the exact same thing and the cup was full. I dont appreciate being lied to.

The staff at Balzac are so amazing and customer focused. I had a really random request for them and they went above and beyond. I apologized for imposing and they said ‘our job is to help our customers.’ That is professionalism. I’m very grateful and impressed.
Staff are all super friendly! Our favs are the salted caramel latte and Canadian maple latte but honestly haven't found a drink you can go wrong with. Usually its a calm and quiet atmosphere which makes it more enjoyable for us. Also happy to #supportlocal. Highly Recommend 👍

I’ve had Balzac’s coffee a few times before, but recently I thought I’d make the walk and try it again one morning, it’s actually an amazing brew ! I went in today and we ordered two drinks and tipped as well. When my boyfriend asked for just a paper cup, the female barista had the audacity to ask us why we wanted a cup with the most attitude for no reason and proceeds to say it would be 25 cents for just the cup. (which is absurd to charge for just a cup especially when we bought stuff and tipped) when my boyfriend handed her a 5$ bill to pay for said cup she rolled her eyes and gave us attitude. Which is a shame because the location is very lovely and the drinks were very good but the customer service is awful.

Cool coffee shop. Coffee is really good here but I can't say the same for the food. Service is perfect though. I also love the high ceiling. I'd prefer some more cozy vibes, maybe I need a few armchairs or so, but it's just a preference.

Visited there for the first time, and it was nice and cozy. The coffee was especially delicious and the staff were friendly. Liked our sandwiches as well. Good that we were there early, later the cafe was getting crowded. Could see that this place is popular.
