Service staff assumed I was not ordering and when I sat at a table that became available when people didn't show up they came and chased me out stating table stating it's reserved. A couple came in and sat at the table ... they confirmed they didn't reserve the table. Shameful. I asked fir service 2x and 2x she looked at me and said I'll be back and walked away. Definitely not coming here again to spend my hard earned money. service received from the server with black hair in a pony tail just awful. Bad attitude.

Great staff, great food, and great atmosphere. Perfect place for a beer after work.Edit: 09/02/24 - still a favorite! Great atmosphere for just having a beer, or sitting down for a meal. Staff are always lovely. Their food has always been great minus the poutine using shredded cheese instead of curds.Still love.

Edelweiss is a time machine to an earlier Kitchener. Here's what I mean by that. The food here is heavily influenced by Bavarian and German traditions. Their schnitzel and sauerkraut is without a doubt some of the best in the region. It's definitely a "hidden gem" in that not a lot of people might consider it a place to visit. But it's definitely worth it. I had the half-dinner Cajun schnitzel, sauerkraut, and mashed potatoes (as you can tell I got ahead of myself before taking the picture) and it's incredible. They have a modern take on some items, in that they do serve wonton nachos for example(which are incredibly generous portions), but they are incredibly loyal to their roots. The cost is on the more expensive side, but the portions are incredibly generous. The half-dinner was enough for me to have leftovers and not worry about dinner.I marked a little bit lower on the atmosphere only because it's a fairly dark bar with little natural lighting, but when it's the summer they have an outdoors patio to take advantage of.They also have a great beer selection, if you like wheat beers Erdinger is a great option. Either way, a great place to visit.

Fantastic pub fare and delicious beer. Not the most comfortable seating (plastic chairs), but still a great spot!

Love the ambiance. Always great service. The hunter schnitzel is my favourite, particularly with their sauerkraut!

The schnitzel was tender and juicy. Definitely top tier, but the price was a bit high.
