Janet Lynn’s Bistro is wonderful. The service is excellent—polished and friendly. The atmosphere is perfect for lunch or dinner—the open kitchen is a reminder of the exceptional skill and craft that will make your meal memorable, and the food? It’s exceptional. Owners, staff, and chefs should take a bow.

This place is a must try! It was lovely and service was nice. Great space for date night, anniversary or birthday. They had live music too. The sour dough bread is delicious and the scallops were so soft and tasty. They also have creme brulee which may not be on the menu but ask them. I would definitely come back!!

This is fine dining at it's best. The food was amazing and all fresh and cooked to your requests. My husband and I with another couple had the most enjoyable time there this past Friday night..Service was excellent and we also got to enjoy live entertainment by Mary Catherine Pazzano singing and piano playing. while we dined.. I felt like dancing in the restaurant.. Food is not cheap but if you want to go for an exquisite meal this is the place to go. I plan to go back soon.

Good food but be prepared to open your wallets. I highly recommend the beef tartare and their specials. Most of their clientele during the two times I’ve been there were older couples, which I find more pleasing than dining with families and kids. The flourless cake is okay, next time I’ll probably save the money and grab my dessert at Dairy Queen 😅 But the rest was really good and we had a lovely time at JLB

Both times I’ve been here with my partner the food has been amazing. The care that is put into meal preparation and the expertise in cooking is the forefront of the evening. Cocktails and good wine are an added bonus and the atmosphere is laid back and friendly like a mom and pop place. One of my favourite restaurants in Ontario!

We had a reservation for 7:00 PM, but when we arrived, there were already people sitting at our reserved table. Instead of offering a solution, the staff just asked us to wait at the bar, without any estimate for how long the wait would be. What's the point of making a reservation if they don’t honor it? It felt unorganized and inconsiderate, especially since we were there as a family expecting a timely dinner. Very disappointed.

such a wonderful experience being able to sit with the chefs!! everyone was so lovely, the chefs engaged in such amazing conversation with us definitely kept us entertained. the food was absolutely amazing, i got the calamari and flat iron steak! they also made the night even better with complimentary desserts, the blueberry cheesecake and passion fruit gelato were definitely my favourite.

Haven't been to Janet Lynn's in many years but used to love the food quality, the amazing service, and great decor.
My wife and I came for drinks, apps, and the evening musical entertainment last Friday night and were most disappointed with the level of service. These service issues were small but all added up to a very different experience than the last time. My wife ordered a vodka martini and it was brought warm (not even room temperature). We ordered a 1/2 liter of wine and it came so full, the server spilt wine on my wife's sweater as she poured the first glass - it was odd there was no apology or attempt to clean it (I was able to clean it when we got home). We weren't in a rush so asked for 15-20 minutes between our apps and pizza and our pizza came while we were finishing our apps.
None of these complaints are significant...but if Janet Lynn's wants to compete with the service of Trio or The Charcoal Group, there is certainly room for improvement.
PS - the musical duo was extremely enjoyable to listen to.
Service was excellent- server was fully knowledgeable about the menu and thoroughly discussed and explained each menu item. Food was excellent - the presentation alone makes everything look tasty.
I had the mahi mahi and carrot cake (pictured). Others that I dined with were fully satisfied with the liver, duck two ways, salmon, winter salad, cheesecake, and flourless cake.
Janet Lynn's definitely exceeded expectations. Will definitely visit again!
