Stopped in here for lunch to split a pizza and beer and was really impressed with the service, food, and atmosphere. Convenient parking as well. Would recommend!

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience at The Civil on New Year’s Eve. I made a reservation weeks in advance to celebrate our anniversary, and when we arrived, there was no table available for us.
Instead, a table was set up for us in the middle of a walking aisle, without anyone explaining the situation, acknowledging that they were overbooked, or asking if this arrangement was acceptable. We were not offered the option to wait for another table or given any alternatives.
A young man working there was apologetic and explained that the manager in the back had made a mistake, which we appreciated, however, the manager never came out to speak with us, apologize, or offer a solution. That lack of accountability was disappointing.
Given that it was New Year’s Eve and our anniversary, we ultimately chose to leave.
We understand that mistakes happen, especially on busy nights, but better communication and ownership from management would have gone a long way. Sadly, this was not the experience we were hoping for on a special occasion.

Everything was fantastic. Our servers were friendly and attentive, and told us about the specials. The drinks were fun and festive and tasty! The pizza is always delicious and always has the same quality everytime I go, you can count on the consistent quality. I would 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great place to eat in Kitchener.

This is a great spot for excellent pizza and yummy flights of delightful drinks. I had the Margarita Flight and Bouje pizza... soooo gooood!! Anthony, our server, was fabulous!! He was friendly, helpful and really nice to deal with. Great service! Definitely worth checking out but make a reservation to ensure you get a table.

Absolutely incredible as always. Whether with family or a date night The Civil does not disappoint. Great atmosphere, top notch service, best selection of pizza in Kitchener, likewise in drink select alcoholic/non-alcoholic. We love this place. Keep doing what you do!

Really liked the vibe here — warm lighting, wooden beams, and a cozy industrial feel with patterned walls and neon bar signs. The music wasn’t too loud, so it’s a nice place to chat, grab a drink, and enjoy some pizza.
We tried the Bee Spicy, which was meaty with tomato sauce, parm, and lots of mozzarella. It was a bit oily (probably because of all the cheese), and the overall taste leaned more savoury than sweet. I was expecting a bit more heat since the menu said “spicy tomato sauce,” but I didn’t really taste any spice. It’d be great if they had chili flakes, honey, or some basic seasonings on the table so you can adjust the flavour yourself.
The Civil Disobedience was quite similar to the Bee Spicy — plenty of cheese, tomato sauce, and parm — but with black forest ham, pineapple, and jalapeño on top. The jalapeños didn’t stand out much. Overall, it tasted like a Hawaiian pizza. And the portion is pretty good, I packed half back home.
Service was friendly and fast, and overall the dining experience was really good. It was just a little cold inside, and I wish they had some hot drinks on the menu (it was freezing outside when I went 😅).

Great place. Cool vibe, awesome pizza, and fantastic cocktails. The smoked old fashioned is a favourite.
I came in every week for the monster cocktails. They were delicious and very well-crafted. My favourite was the Mummy cocktail. I wouldn’t have expected cumin, fig, and black tea to work with whisky, but I was happy to be proven wrong. The foam printed with the vampire/mummy of the customer’s choosing was a nice touch for horror fans.
