Lots of food and the cook is willing to customize the order. Take notes “little beaver” one sausage cut in half does not equal two sausages.

Great spot - we've been for breakfast twice. It's what you would want from an old country-type diner. Enough choices to keep you happy, prices that are reasonable, and food that is good.

A hidden gem! The food was delicious, and the service was friendly and quick. This will definitely be our new go-to breakfast spot.

Kid-friendliness: Great spot for families. They had crayons, and they even gave her a cookie and a sucker after our meal :)

Visited today with my son and granddaughter. Very disappointed with price and quality. The grilled home fries were horrible. The side salad was in a bowl with 3 tiny tomatoe pieces. And the carrots xake was really really bad took a piece home had I ate it there I would have sent back a children's pancake meal a fried egg sandwich with cold very bad homefries and a burger and soup 67.00. Would not recommend

Huge shout out to the staff at Barnes Family Restaurant. We were in town for a hockey tournament and found this gem! As busy as they were (with regulars and hockey peeps), the staff stepped up and did such a great job accommodating the large and small groups, communicating how long things would take. And were so apologetic for the longer wait time for food. (Which came out in a VERY reasonable amount of time).

The food was delicious and fresh. Our waitress so friendly and kind. If you are every in the area, give them a visit! There is no doubt in my mind that this is a local favourite.

Excellent little family diner. Food is fantastic, service is great. We went two mornings in a row when we first found out about it. Unfortunately now we limit ourselves to once a week max.

Cozy and home like feeling.
Loved the eggs benedict.

Disappointing, especially with all the great reviews. Grilled cheese sandwich with no pickle on the side? And $15 with small side salad for something green. Since when is a “Garden Salad” made with chopped iceberg lettuce? Small bowls, a few chopped pink tomatoes, slivers of red cabbage and carrot shreds and dressings from Kraft plastic containers.: not impressive. Coffee OK, but no sparkling water to drink. No plans to come back, despite a nice server, a bright airy room and easy parking.

We just finished the takeout Thanksgiving dinner. It was delicious and the turkey was juicy and perfectly cooked. We really enjoyed it and hope to do it again for Christmas!
