I really enjoy this wonderful pub while attending Ian Davies musical bookings and facilitated by the Cuckoos Nest Folk Club. Jerry Pribil and staff create a welcoming cozy pub setting in which to enjoy a true listening room.
A London institution, the atmosphere takes you back in time. The night we went they were struggling to keep up with service and we felt bad for the server, who was very friendly but also clearly overwhelmed.Service aside, the food was simple but excellent. The schnitzel had a light and crispy coating with tender meat. Excellent tangy sauerkraut and flavourful red cabbage.
We've been going to chaucers for a few years before the Knights game. It has good food and is a quick walk to the arena. It always feels dark and the temperature varies drastically based on where you are in the restaurant. The bathrooms are FREEZING all the time. I feel bad for the servers as there only ever seems to be 1 person on at a time and it gets busy. If you want your bill, I would be prepared to ask for it well in advance because the server WILL be busy. We...
