Under The Volcano offers a diverse menu with a separate vegetarian section, providing a refreshing change for plant-based diners. The restaurant is known for having a lot of gluten-free options, making it accommodating for various dietary needs. The service is generally quick, with friendly staff who efficiently take orders and check on guests throughout their meals, even during busy times. The atmosphere is calm, with dim lighting that suits neurodivergent individuals. The food is impressive, featuring popular dishes such as queso dip, Baja bites, fajitas, cayenne beef chummy chunga, and chimichonga. While the service can sometimes be understaffed, the restaurant remains a family favorite, offering kid-friendly amenities like high chairs, a kids' menu, and activity pages. Customers often enjoy their Mexican-inspired flavors, which are mild enough for the average Canadian to appreciate without overwhelming spice levels. The restaurant is recognized for its eye-catching presentation and delicious food, with recommendations like the steak chimichangas and deep fried ice cream.
