Coffee Shops in Marathon

“Stopped here for coffee on our road trip. Service was really good. The lady was quick, welcoming and friendly. The coffee was good, more on the weak side but that’s how I enjoy it. The donuts are dense, but still have a good flavour to them. I got the chocolate dip which was mediocre at best and the strawberry filled which was better but not great.“

“On our trip east on the TransCanada highway, there is often an over abundance of fast food brands. We read about this small independent restaurant in the Marathon Mall, a very few km. off the highway. We had the soup(choice of 2) and sandwich(choice of 4 or 5 on choice of 3 breads, toasted or plain) special. The soups smelled very good, and tasted even better. The sandwiches were very fresh and tasty. The service was excellent and price reasonable. I was even allowed to sit at a table where I could plug in to recharge my Ipod. The decor is intriguing with elephant theme paintings and sculptures everywhere. Well worth the small trip off the highway.“
