Decided to give this boba shop a try since we were told they have a Michelin star. We tried the Taro Milk Tea and Classic Bubble Milk Tea. The flavor was pretty solid for both, but we also thought that it was overpriced and a little basic for what it was. The boba was super soft though, so it definitely added to the experience. we are from California area and we were told that they also have another location in San Gabriel, which is cool to know that there's one nearby our hometown. Service was great and the staff was very friendly and interactive with us and helped us figure out what was good from the menu. Luckily when we stopped by, it wasn't busy at all so there was no line or no wait but they did have a section that showed where the line can start to form when it did get busy so it's safe to assume that it probably gets pretty busy at certain times. Ambiance is clean and very aesthetic. It's a small shop so there's very limited seating but also located within the mall so you can easily order and take it around with you as you walk around the mall.

I was in Markville Mall and came across this new bubble tea place. It looked nice and was busy. I decided to try the taro bubble tea. Have to say that there's really nothing out of the ordinary; the prices are on the high side. Maybe it's due to the method they brew the teas but it doesn't justify the price. Who can afford to pay on a regular basis more than $8(!) for a bubble tea or tea for that matter?? Unless I am really desperate, I won't likely come back again.

Award-winning (supposedly 3 michelin star equivalent) Chicha San Chen has finally arrived in markham at markville mall!My gf and I stopped by on a sunday and the line was surprisingly only around 10-15 min long.My colleague had raved about the downtown location to me as she lives near it but because of distance to me it's been sitting in my bookmarks. The tea is very fragrant. You can waft and sniff all the aromas of each tea in the display tins as you walk up to the counter. My gf opted for cassia black tea with cream (she wanted oat milk but they had already run out of it unfortunately) and grass jelly. For me, it was a toss up between dong-ding oolong or high mountain pouchong. I ended up going w/ the high mountain pouchong w/ fresh lemon juice and konjac jelly. Both teas tasted great! Very strong tea flavour (could taste the essence of the leaves). The pouchong was definitely more floral than the cassia. Idk if it's roasted, but the cassia had deep roasted undertones to my taste buds.I've heard the taro balls are supposed to be really good so I may try those way further in the future.I say way further because MAN IS IT EXPENSIVE.If I'm giving a rating solely on tea taste and quality it's an ez 5 stars. However, they only have 1 size for the drinks and you're basically paying around $9 per drink which is infringing on Ten Ren's price territory .The tea is better than a lot of chains but is the value THAT much better than say a large bbt at The Alley (which also has solid tea) at almost $3 more expensive for a smaller size (including topping)? I'm not entirely convinced tbh.So for overall rating, I'd give a SOLID, SOLID 4 star rating. EXCELLENT tea but I have to drop a star because bbt should never get close to $10 (especially a non-large).

It's good to see bubble tea store using real fresh tea to make bubble tea. This brand comes from Taiwan. I can taste the character of the red tea. The store will pickup a fixed portion of tea leaf, and making fresh tea for the customers. The product is worth to try. However, the store is too busy and crowd. The order experience is a little bit to rush, if employees can be more friendly will be perfect. There are not enough sits for customers to enjoy their drinks in the store. It takes me around 20mins for me to get my order. In general, I think I will give them another shot. The tea favor is special and memorable.

Hands down the best bbtea in town. Every cup is freshly brewed and the sugar level is perfect. I ordered the taro greentea without any additional syrup and it was perfect. Too bad I don't live in the area but I will make sure I will come try different ones next time I am around.

My oolong bubble tea tasted very milky. There was barely any tea in it. It basically tasted like milk and sugar. Would not order this bubble tea again.

I would not waste my money at this bubble tea shop. Not worth the line up at all. The milk tea is pretty average and very overpriced. There are definitely a lot better options in the mall. This is coming from someone who drinks way too much bubble tea. The staff lack the experience of decent customer service… I don’t even want to go into the details. I’d go elsewhere.

Like most ppl stated, the bubble tea is ok but is tiny and not worth 9 dollar with tax. Should have listen to review order from another place.

I bought the regular milk tea and was very disappointed. I asked for less sugar and less ice--cashier said ice level is already less ice. Worst drink ever for the reasons below:1. Overpriced for the size, $9 for a small sized bubble tea (compared to other bubble tea joints such as KungFu Tea and Chat Time)2. Only half of the drink actually contained black tea, other half had half ice and foam from milk3. Not much black tea flavour4. On weekend, the wait time was 20-30 mins for cheap quality.

The images seem very good, and the shop is so clean. They don't even need to call your name to get your order! The tea seems very good.

TL; DR - Tasty! Perfect for tea lovers.Had to try given the "Michelin" hype. Pleasantly surprised and not disappointed! From an article: "...it’s been awarded what’s referred to as the equivalent of three Michelin stars from the International Taste Institute."No line up for ordering, but had to wait around 20mins for the completed order.Tried their Classic Milk Tea and Dong-Ding Oolong. Was going to try their Bubble Volcano but was told there's no tea in it!Both drinks were super smooth and had an immense tea flavor - a significant step up from the main bbt chains. The tea is measured out for each cup and brewed to order vs a big batch. Tapioca were also perfect and not too sweet. Good texture.Overall, will return for other flavours, but only if order in-take line is short.

Freshly brewed tea really does make a difference! I've never tasted such a strong and bold tea flavour in bubble tea - would definitely come back but it's not worth waiting over 40 minutes.

Would recommend coming on a week day if you want to avoid long lines and long wait time. Tea tastes amazing and I like that there are no syrups added (they use honey instead of syrup) so the ingredients feel more natural and I don't "feel bad" for coming more often ? only downside is the price since it's almost $9-10 per cup after toppings and tax, but it's a good treat every once in a while :)
