They really down hill, food so little, use cheap stuff inside, everything so disappointment now. Price is not reasonable. Won't go again.

This is obviously fake sweet shrimp from some dubious source — they must think customers are fools! And it’s completely stale! How can they have the conscience to sell something like this for over 40 bucks?!

Hana Don: A True Japanese Gem
Hana Don is a truly exceptional Japanese restaurant that you should definitely book ahead for, as it's a very busy place. The quality and presentation of the food are the main premises here, and they certainly deliver.

My meal started with a wonderfully soothing miso soup and a unique crab cracker with a fun, sushiesque vibe. For the main course, our group tried several dishes. The Aburi Don with mixed tempura was a standout—the seafood was super fresh and melted in your mouth, while the tempura was perfectly crunchy. I ordered the Karaage Oyako Don, which was a really good blend of juicy, fresh chicken, egg, and rice. The Chicken Katsu Don was also perfect.

We also enjoyed some fresh nigiri, with the freshwater eel being the best I've ever had, along with a delicious dynamite roll to finish. While the service could be improved with a little more politeness, the outstanding quality and presentation of every dish completely overshadow any minor issues. This is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates authentic and high-quality Japanese cuisine.

Fresh sushi, good service. Sushi rice was falling apart.

The raw fish here is very fresh, and well worth the price. The fish melts in your mouth.

Got my young daughter 1 salmon sushi, her first time trying raw sushi. She really liked it!
The staff did not complain or show displeasure for me ordering 1 for her. (Didn't take pic of it, but it was very fresh and a good size.)

We got other dishes and they were all very well presented. The sushi rice was very soft and did not hold shape though, every piece was falling apart. I ended up cutting my sushi in half, so the rice ball was smaller and wouldn't crumble apart. The aburi had onion for a bit of spicy kick, but I wish it was made into a spicy sauce, as it felt a bit lacking in flavour.

Aside from that, we had a good time.

Took my daughter to the washroom to wash her hands. Washroom was clean.

I've been here several times before and I always left wanting to come back.

This time I ordered the aburi don. It was delicious. The ingredients went extremely well with each other. Though the ingredients went well together, the proportions of each ingredient wasn't as perfect as the taste of the mixed foods itself. The bowl mostly (about 66%) consists of rice. The amount of rice hides the flavour of the other foods, which didn't really give me a full taste of the dish.

The service was really nice. The waitresses were super friendly and went out of their way to compliment us and try to get to know us.

3 stars means ok. It is not bad, just ok. We ordered 4 don... in general, fish is fresh but paper thin. The cheese oysters are good if you like cheese. I am not a fan of it. The grill squid is ok.
