Had a pork bone ramen today. It was sooooo baddddddd I can’t believe they can serve this and call it “ramen”. It’s insulting to the culture. Wish I can have my money back. Avoid going here at all cost!!

One of my favourite spots to eat when grabbing groceries. This is not a full service restaurant. Order at the counter and pay at the same time, they bring you your food and you clean up after yourself. It’s a small Japanese cuisine gem. If you’re missing the taste of udon all the way from your home town, this place hits the spot. Also, like I said not full service, no toilet onsite. - across the street where the bakery is located is the toilet

Words can’t describe my disappointment! The broth had no depth and it was very similar to instant Ramen. We tried the pork bone broth and the soy sauce ramen. The chashu pork slices were the smallest and thinnest I have ever eaten in Toronto. Please save your time and money and go somewhere else. I expected more from a shop in J town.

I’ve visited Niwatei many times over the years, usually after picking up Japanese groceries next door at Heisei Mart. It’s always a consistently good experience. The food is comforting, the flavours are reliable, and the atmosphere feels familiar every time I return. A dependable spot for a simple, satisfying Japanese meal in the neighbourhood.

It is a great food court style restaurant. Great for take out and non rush hours dinning

Long standing ramen shop at J-town! This place went through a few upgrades over the years. Now it’s still a self order cafeteria style restaurant where you put away your own trays. The noodles are done well, and the pork bone miso ramen is my favourite. The tempura platter is worth a shot although not on the wall menu! The curry combo is also a great option.

Seating is limited but comfortable with the modern booth seats and some tables. Hours are somewhat limited as the place is for lunch and closes early. It’s actually connected to the Heisei convenience store on the other end. Props to the owners for keeping this place up and running well. Definitely the place to be if you feel for a ramen in J-town!

Food is always good. But recently they added some non English speaking staff at the ordering counter. If they don't want to speak English then don't come here. SIMPLE

A nice little place nestled inside of the Asian store. I ordered the tempura udon and it was probably the best udon I've had, the tempura shrimp were very large and also very tasty. Overall a nice little place to go with a friend or two and enjoy some good food and talk.

This is a basic no frills restaurant. Ordered the tempura udon, comes with two inari sushi. The food was good, came out pretty quick. The seating is very limited. The prices are ok, but you need to return your empty plates and bowls to the back on your own. They need to clean the table after each customer.

Honestly, I had one of the best matchas of my life here! It's even better than matcha matcha. The matcha powder they used was very rich.

This restaurant is good for a quick bit. It’s inside a Japanese supermarket.

I went to Japan last year, I think the look and feel of this restaurant is exactly the same as those in Japan.

The food was good but portions could be a little bigger and hotter.
