The portions are big and the pot is strong enough. The products from the humble shop are not inferior at all.

This is a not so eye-catching stall. But the glutinous rice is of top quality! "Small box" cost only Ca$ 6.8 (inclusive tax) but portion good enough!
The rice is of round type, hot in temperature, with conventional food inside, good taste.
Comparing to the neighbour stall which always has long queue, this stall should rank top choice too.

Located between the two internet famous BBQ restaurants (you know, the two with the super long lines) in the First Markham Place food court, 顏記 was the only restaurant with my Mom's go-to whenever we eat out: Cantonese style fried noodles (noodles MUST be crispy), stir-fry beef rice noodles, stir-fried rice with diced chicken and preserved fish.
This restaurant delivered the wok hei for the stir fried rice noodles; combined with their chili soy sauce and it's perfection. The chili soy sauce isn't very spicy if you careful. Add to taste.
The Cantonese style fried noodles was crispy and delicious --dad and sib had it with the restaurant's chili oil and thought it was the best; Mom laments that they didn't have a seafood version of the fried noodles.
After that, our stomachs were able to fit a few bites of the fried rice and we ended up packing it up to take home. The preserved fish smelled and tasted amazing, but be careful you don't have a giant chunk of fish on your spoon or you'll have a very salty mouthful!
The restaurant's old school and doesn't take any cards so remember to bring cash with you.
Condiments are self-serve.
After placing our order, we were given a number and told to come back in about 10 minutes to pick up our food. If you're dining in, do use that time to find a seat because this is a very busy food court (we visited Saturday during lunch, so it was probably the busiest time). Divide and conquer! The locals likely order to-go and eat in the comfort of their homes; I know I would.
Less than $40 for 3 dishes that'll feed 4 adults and still have left lovers. Not bad for 2024.
Parking: We got lucky. If we arrived half an hour later, it would have been very difficult to find a few parking space. I would say aim to arrive before 1 pm.

I ordered a chicken and vegetable fried noodle, it was made fresh to order and tastes great. I recommend Yan Can Cook if you're looking for Chinese foods in First Markham Place.

Best Chinese food I had in a while, the cashier Cassidy was very helpful and insightful into their many delicious dishes. I would come back again everyday for lunch from now on!

The most disgusting bowl of wings I have ever eaten! There is no taste except for salt. It tastes completely different from the ones I have eaten before! I can just pick it out and sell it this time. I don’t know if it is the owner’s fault. A chef question...Worse imitation Shark Fin Soup I have ever had! It has no flavor, only salt with hot water, even the free soup that comes with the combo from the BBQ place next door taste better than it! Such a pity that it used to taste better , can't believe they sell this even if it tastes bad

Yan is a convenient option for those seeking a quick meal. While the speed of service is definitely a strong point, the food was a bit underwhelming.I ordered for the Fried Squid with Rice. The portion of squid was relatively small. It was just an average dish overall.
