A classic omakase spot. Been coming back for years (since their scarborough location ). I usually get the omakase sushi set but i recently tried their dinner sushi gozen set menu. I would definately come back !

Staff was nice. The fish was fresh and it was good quality. Even their wasabi was better. I usually am grossed out by wasabi but there was a bit in my sushi and I ate it unknowingly and it didn't bother me much. Everything from the soup to ice cream was great.

Heard many good reviews about this place from my friends, so we decided to give it a try. We arrived at noon and it was already packed.
We ordered the following:
1. Chirashi and udon (Fish was fresh. Although portion size looked small, but it was very filling. Served with miso soup and salad).
2. Sake ikura don and udon
Great service, quick and attentive. Would return.

We are having our dinner with our teen daughter. The omakase is great! Very comfortable environment and relaxing. They have table seats good for family chatting, not like some other high end Japanese restaurants offer counter only seats. Highly recommend!
The food was delicious and although the restaurant was busy and full, the atmosphere was pleasant and quiet. It was my birthday so the restaurant also gave me a red bean mochi with a candle on the house. The server who brought it out immediately offered to take a photo, which I really appreciated. She read my mind! It was a nice touch to end the night. Thank you!

The food at Zen Japanese was awesome.
The Shrimp and Veggie Tempura was crispy and good. The shrimp tempura were meaty but tender :)
The Chirashi Don and Omakase Sashimi were awesome. The sashimi were all fresh, smooth, and delicious :)
The Miso soup was good.
The Real Matcha Ice Cream was awesome. It was smooth with a good matcha flavour.
The Soy Milk Ice Cream with Brown Sugar was interesting. It had a good soy milk flavour but left an odd after taste.
