Maybe I'm spoiled from Shoushin, but to pay almost the same, it's a lot noisier, and the service is not 100% attentive. Food good quality, rice (mmm...i have a different taste palate). Will i come again? probably not, $50 50bux difference to get Shoushin service, I'd rather pay a bit more, I'm already paying that kind of money anyways.

My memory of the Zen Restaurant began when it was located in a strip mall location in Scarborough. Since moving to their location in Markham, the restaurant remains in a strip mall although in a much more affluent area. The restaurant is owned by Seiichi Kashiwabara who earned a Michelin star for his restaurant in 2024 and again in 2025. The restaurant seems like a hidden gem in Markham.
