Came to attend a party and was hoping for a nicer experience than I had. The main dining room looked decent but we were in the party room. Our hosts did a lovely job with the decor but the room itself seemed run down with wall sconces that were flickering, a giant AC unit blowing air at people's head when walking by or taking pictures and chairs that were too big (but comfy). I arrived just before 6 pm and used the washroom (very disappointing) which was too dark and did not have toilet paper in 2/4 stalls. I reported the lack of toilet paper right away. Around 8 pm my friend went to the washroom and said there still wasn't any toilet paper in the first 2 stalls!! With a party of about 60 women that should have been addressed right away! There was not a lot of vegan/gluten free food but that may have just been what was served by our hosts. I didn't check the menu to see if they actually have more options. Staff were friendly but clueless at times.... Removed our water glasses as per photographer but never brought them back until we asked 3 times. Then they brought glasses but all the water was finished. Simple things that should not have needed requesting more than once. May or may not go back.....don't feel motivated to make the effort.

We were on a North Indian food tour while in Toronto for 2 full days this week. It was a lot of fun trying the excellent choices and options in the area. Tamarind was a lunch stop on Day 2. They have an interesting variety and fusion-ish concept. We tried a lot of appetizers, including paneer bao, paneer taco, kulcha chana, chili paneer, and manchurian. I think the paneer bao and taco were ok. The chili paneer and manchurian were good. I can't say the same for the kulcha. Oh, not to forget the gol gappa shots. Awesome presentation on those with the gole gappa on top of a shot glass that come in a big tray with some dry ice smoke action. Then for the mains we had paneer and dal makhani, which were our standard test at each restaurant on the tour. The dal at Tamarind was really good. I would say that it was very rich and creamy, which made it a bit less the winning dal entry. The paneer makhani was good as well. Garlic naan and all were fine. I think we went at a time where the place was dserted (pun intended), so the service ended up being spotty. Oh, we did have this kind of mouse dessert at the end, which was OK,

Good Indian food. Portion is small. Expensive place. Service is moderate. Good wine selection available. We went for lunch and enjoyed their snacks .

Not sure how this restaurant is still open, probably because they have average to good range of food items But service is extremely poor, the Manager there does not know how to treat/talk to their customers at least 6 customers including us had complaint about service. I mean if they don't want to respect theri customers atleast don't disrespect them. No greetings and very egoistic attitude towards customers Ambience was good, live music was good too but was loud for this kind of atmosphere All in all, Definitely don't recommend it to anyone

Amazing Indian food in the heart of Mississauga, Ontario. So many good things to say. Cuisine can be best described as Indian with some Asian flair. Tried too many dishes to list them all. A couple of highlights were the Gobi Chili (General Zso's Cauliflower), Chili chicken, butter chicken, Kulcha (Naan stuffed with sautéed onions), and the Indian crème brûlée. Food was amazing and the service was solid. One of the better Indian meals I have had in recent memory. Highly recommend!

They blare the music on the patio at all hours disturbing the locals. The lack respect for the community and its residents.

Imagine receiving a text saying your entry is confirmed and then you reach at the place and the manager says we can’t let stags in. Horrible customer service when asked for the manager. They have no clue whatsoever about the word reservation. Would not even recommend this place to my counterparts. And yes, please do not talk to Rajesh or whoever acts as a manager over there mans got no clue.

Title: Terrible Experience at Tamarind Modern Indian BistroReview:I recently visited Tamarind Modern Indian Bistro, and my experience was nothing short of a nightmare. The establishment had serious security issues that made me feel unsafe throughout my entire visit. Additionally, the behavior of the staff was extremely unprofessional and unacceptable.Firstly, I was appalled to witness the staff serving food while consuming alcohol. It was not only unhygienic but also a blatant disregard for professionalism. I had serious concerns about the quality and safety of the food being served under such conditions. It's truly shocking that the management allows this kind of behavior from their employees.Furthermore, the billing process was a complete disaster. No detailed billing details were provided, making it impossible to verify the charges. This lack of transparency is concerning, and it made me question the integrity of the establishment. I strongly believe that customers deserve a clear breakdown of their expenses, and Tamarind Modern Indian Bistro failed miserably in this regard. The staff's attitude towards customers was absolutely disgraceful. They were rude, unhelpful, and displayed a complete lack of professionalism. It seemed like they had no interest in providing good service or addressing customer concerns. I was shocked by their behavior and felt disrespected throughout my time at the restaurant. To make matters worse, the manager and other staff members had the audacity to ask for money just to enter the patio area. This is an absurd and unacceptable practice. It seemed like they were more interested in making a quick buck than providing a pleasant dining experience. It's clear that Tamarind Modern Indian Bistro prioritizes profits over customer satisfaction. The most alarming aspect of my visit was the fact that drugs were being offered by the staff. This kind of illegal and dangerous activity has no place in a reputable establishment. It's not only a violation of the law but also a threat to the safety of customers. It's truly shocking that the management has allowed such behavior to take place within their premises. In conclusion, I strongly advise against visiting Tamarind Modern Indian Bistro. The security issues, staff behavior, lack of billing details, and drug-related activities make this establishment a hazardous and unpleasant place to dine. Save yourself the trouble and find a more reputable and customer-oriented restaurant in town.

Sufi night was good, all thanks to the DJ. But the management really need to have some sort of crowd control. People were drunk and most of them were popping bottles over the crowd, jumping on the tables & throwing stuff here & there. They need to have good security & Strict Policy regarding such nuisance. Also, they need to improve their service.Hope that management takes some action.

Excellent, tasty, and authentic indian food (I would know since i’ve lived four years in India, and it tastes the exact same as the food there) The staff is also very friendly.

It had been a while since we went to a good Indian restaurant so we decided to head over to this place. They're known for their live music, and presentation and quality of food and I'll say they mostly didn't disappoint in those two areas. However, the service was definitely not the best - we didn't get water until halfway across our main course even after asking for it. There was one guy who heard all our requests, nodded, and completely forgot about that request which was typically odd. Anyway, coming to food we tried most of their appetizers from fish tikka, chicken momos, chicken chettinad tacos and the showstopper of the evening, their gol gappe with classic water. This was amazing! I also liked the fish tikka but the other appetizers were not worth it. We tried their Kohinoor fizz mocktail which had mango, ginger ale and grenadine in it and loved how it tasted. We ordered butter naan, rumali roti, butter chicken and dal makhani for main course and the butter naan and butter chicken was really good. The dal makhani was average but the rumali roti was cold which was disappointing. The prices are on the mid to higher range so I'd probably not be frequenting this place but it's a good restaurant for date nights and sudden Indian cravings once in a while.

Incredible food, atmosphere and service! My friend and I ordered an assortment of dishes and enjoyed eating family style. My chicken tikka masala was perfect with just the right amount of spice. I got the Cyrus Irani mocktail and OH MY GOSH.. it was so refreshing and delicious. I highly recommend trying it. You can tell this place has a lot of regulars. There were a lot of families enjoying their meals together. I'll be back if I'm in the area again!

Disgusting management. They dont have crowd control and cant profile their guest. Cheap crowd. Bad food.

Beautiful interiors, great food and exemplary location. I really liked the Pani puri shots which was so flavorful as well as dahi ke kebab which was crunchy on the outside and so creamy and delicate inside. The breads were amazing and so were the drinks. Service was a little slow even though the restaurant wasn't as busy. The loud music also seemed out of place for a fine dine place. Highly recommend visiting this place for the food though!
