Best Chicken Club sandwich I've ever had. The white bread slices were twice the size of regular sliced bread; could easily shared this sandwich! Friendly and very reasonably priced!!

My husband sometimes do breakfast hops. We are from Guelph. Happened upon the OCR. Wonderful service, excellent coffee and the breakfast was perfect. We have put this restaurant on our “we’ll be back list!”

Super wait staff!! Nice diner-style breakfast menu. Sam served us: he was excellent! We ordered the 3 meat breakfast and a BLT sandwich to go. Everything was exactly as we ordered it. We will return!

We had a friends get together breakfast here, place looks like new owners are making improvements, our waitress was pleasant, food was standard as bacon and eggs go, portions seem to have shrunk , but price have not, even the coffee cups are small, food did come out of kitchen pretty quick, overall nice part of town, mediocre place but worth a try, cheers

My craving for calamari was so delicious. This was the best I have had in forever. It was served on a bed of lettuce and peppers, sweet and spicy. Even though it was an appetizer I ordered garlic bread (so good) and this and was enough to not have to order anything else. Server was very friendly. There are so many options on the menu it is going to generate a few more tips in the future.

We had exceptional service and the food was delicious! We can't wait to come back and enjoy that pecan pie again! And that coconut shrimp was phenomenal!

This was our first visit to The Old Country Bar and Restaurant since the closure of the previous one and the ultimate reopening with new owners in November 2021. We were in last evening for dinner and I am happy to report that this restaurant continues the fine tradition of good food and ambience. There have been physical improvements which are delightful. There are at least four HD TVs, fine lighting and very clean tables and other improvements. The menu is very large, two full pages! Our server was the delightful Brie. She is friendly and knowledgeable and a very fine server. The Black Swan Craft Beer (produced just down the road in Stratford ON) is tasty and pleasant. Food was excellent. The Beet and Goat Cheese Salad is hughly recommended, It has fresh Avocado chunks as well as walnuts and the dressing adds the last perfect touch. I enjoyed the Grilled Vegetable Wrap and I would certainly recommend it too! There was no room for dessert.... Thank-you for reopening The Old Country Restaurant! We will certainly be in again since the lockdowns seem to be disappearing for good.

My wife and I order carryout from the Old country Restaurant last night (Aug 20th) while staying the night inNew Hamburg I had the Liver and Onions with a starter garden salad she had a hot Turkey meal and a starter garden salad. the food was hot and delicious the portions were generous we were very pleased Our only regret was we had to be on the road before they opened for breakfast at 8 am or we would have ordered from the Old Country Resturant again this morning well done indeed

70’s diner style restaurant with menu options I haven’t seen in years - like the hot Hamburg plate, if that gives you a picture. We opted for their burger special. A little over cooked but a great experience overall with friendly staff, a table by the window to enjoy people watching on the Main Street of New Hamburg.
This has been our go to restaurant for some time for breakfast, and generally enjoy our meal. Today was a different story--when we were placing our order and asked the waitress about toast options she only told us white or whole wheat (we had to specifically ask about rye, which they did have), eggs weren't cooked as asked, brought our breakfast with regular breakfast sausage, not the garlic sausage (told us after she put the plates down that they ran out of the garlic sausage), reluctantly said she could switch it out for bacon, which we admittedly declined for fear our breakfast would come back cold. We both had one bite of the sausage and left the rest as we did not like it. After the food was delivered the waitress never checked back to see if all was good, and she could see when she cleared the table that the sausage was pretty much untouched. She did not ask why and no attempt was made to make it right or to compensate. Worst breakfast we have had from this restaurant, will have to think twice before returning, there are many other options available.
