The Maids' Cottage's butter tarts are voted among the best in Ontario, and I can see why! The tart crust/shell may look thick and dense, but it's actually very light without being dry. Apparently everyone in Newmarket and beyond is aware of the deliciousness that are these award-winning butter tarts. I almost feel embarrassed for never having heard of them, as I pride myself on being a butter tart connoisseur.

Truly the best butter tart! The crust is fantastic and not an afterthought, this is what sets it apart from other tarts. So many options, and all great buy my top favourite is the Apple Buttertart.
