Isn't open, has never opened. Existing review is a lie. Building has sat dormant since March and is demolished inside. Very disappointed that someone would lie.

My husband and I went here for the first time, to celebrate my birthday. We were quite excited to try a different place. The ambiance was nice. It was very quiet the entire time, only us and 2 other tables. Our server (Sterling I think her name was) was ok. Told her it was our first time there, but never mentioned my birthday, (although I had added that in my reservation notes). No mention was ever made of my birthday, which was disappointing. We ordered the garlic shrimp to start. Very easy to cook….yet they came undercooked!!! I thought it was just mine, but my husband said his was as well and as we cut into the others they still had a slight grey colour! YIKES! It took the waitress a bit to come ask us how they were as she was chatting with other employees in bar area. We told her and she was shocked, saying that’s the only time that has ever happened. She quickly took them away and said they will be taken off the bill and new ones made. We then heard her telling a man near the bar that the shrimp weren’t cooked. I’m assuming he was a manager, as he then walked into the kitchen. We expected him to come over to our table and apologize, as most every restaurant we frequent does, but he went back to bar area. When the server brought the new shrimp they were VERY over cooked. Better over than under, but cooked to perfection would have been better! I mean, I myself, can cook shrimp to perfection…it’s not difficult! Also, you’d think the server would come right over to make sure these ones were cooked better, but it took her u til we were almost done to come and ask!? Then the seafood fettuccine came and was ok, although quite greasy. We didn’t get desert, as we were concerned that it would also be a letdown. We went back to our hotel and got desert there. After spending over $158 with tip, we agreed that we will never return. Niagara Falls has so many nice restaurants to try. When we mentioned the disappointment in our food to our Uber driver, he was surprised, saying he’s heard it’s really good. We will give the chef the benefit of the doubt and maybe they just had an off night? Regardless, we won’t return. We tried another new place the next night and LOVED it.

What a wonderful meal we had at Sandstone. To start us off the calamari and shrimp, were enjoyable as well as our salads. The salmon was cooked to perfection as was the steak. To end our evening we ordered cheesecake and took it with us. We weren’t disappointed. Sterling took wonderful care of us. If you have an opportunity to have a distinguished gentleman come over to check on your meal, he’s the owner who rolls up his sleeves to help out. Thanks again.

We went to this restaurant for our anniversary dinner. Our server, Montana, greeted us and congratulated us on our anniversary. She was very friendly, and answered all our questions, including her recommendations for dessert. My wife and I had a short friendly conversation after dinner and she made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. The food portion was more than enough. My wife found her penne with sausages just right in both portion and the savouriness of the sauce. We have gone to fine Italian restaurants where we found the sauce to be too thick, too thin, or too spicy. The sauce was just right for our palate. We found the price to be very reasonable for the quality of the food, and would come back to try their other dishes on the menu.

Really startling to find this delight in one of the most "tourist" locations in the country, on one of the most "tourist" streets, a restaurant with very good food We ate outdoors on a pleasant terrace, with good service from adorable Tigan, a very varied menu, and what makes it possible, all under the watchful eye of the owner, who started as a teenager under the watchful eye of his parents, the original owners. All this made for a wonderful dinner that was totally unexpected. Bravo!

Having made a reservation to celebrate our anniversary, we arrived on time at the restaurant. We were greeted by a very nice young lady who showed us to our table. My wife ordered the prix fixe menu with Chicken Gordon Bleu as the main. Her starter selection was Garlic Shrimp which were delicious. I ordered Beer Battered Fish & Chips. Having researched the visit on-line and by relying on the venue's website I noted that the prix fixe price was $49.00 and the Fish & Chips were (and are listed, today), a day later at $19.00 on the printed menu. As the prix fixe menu included soup, my wife, not keen on the mixed vegetable soup, ordered the recommended French Onion soup. The waitress advised it would be $3.00 extra. So much for "prix fixe". We were not favourably impressed. I asked about the difference in the price of the printed menu and the current website. The waitress said that "sometimes the changes don't shop up on the website. She further informed me that the printed menu was last amended over a year ago and there's nothing she could do". We were not impressed. I asked the waitress to check with management and she went, reappeared and stated "there's nothing we can do". In keeping with the evening's theme, we were not impressed. 15 minutes after the delicious shrimp dish was served (and a significant amount of melted garlic butter was left going cold and setting in the dish) the waitress arrived with some bread, commenting "bet you've been waiting for that". Yes, we were and no, we were not impressed. The mains we're passable and quite generous in serving size. This was also duly noted. Eventually I was presented with the bill where a $53.00 line item caught, my eye. As the $3.00 surcharge for the onion soup was not listed I question the waitress what the $53.00 was for. She asked what does it say on the bill, (she cannot read it without glasses...) and I explain it to her. She actually informed me that it was the prix fixe ($49.00) and the surcharge for the soup ($3.00). When pointing out the weird math applied, she avtually proceeded to wave her fingers in front of my face, counting 49, 50, 51, 52 sticking an extra finger in my face at each number starting with 50. Then she reats 52 and says " what's the problem"? I said "it says $53 on the bill. She then asks the greeter who was amusingly watching the exchange to read her what the bill says. And the greeter, get this, proceeds to count with her fingers 49, 50, 51, 52. With a puzzled expression she states that the extra dollar is the tax on the surcharge. Our reservation asked for the occasion, we stated it was our wedding anniversary. I ask, why was I asked? There was no hint of our anniversary in any of the staff and owner's demeanour. You guessed it; we were not impressed

My grandson and I visited Niagara Falls over this past weekend. Walking back to our hotel on Friday, I managed to get us lost and my cell phone was dead. I stepped into Sandstone Grillhouse to get directions. I believe it was the manager, Danielle, that informed me it was a 30 minute walk. We had already walked several miles that day, so I decided to call an Uber. Well, of course I couldn't because my phone was dead! Danielle offered to charge it while I wait. So I decided to have a beer at the bar. The bartender was extremely friendly and welcoming to us both. He made my grandson the most amazing Shirley Temple he had ever had! We both enjoyed the atmosphere there so much we decided to stay for dinner and we were not disappointed. The food was as amazing as the service and atmosphere! After that for some reason I could not use my Uber app. Danielle came to my rescue once again and pushed buttons on my phone until it worked! I know this is a very long review, but can't help it. In mine and my grandson's opinionSandstone Grillhouse is a 5 Star restaurant. Try it out...it will not disappoint you!

Great looking restaurant but the food was way over prices and nothing was made in house. The pasta dish was pasta from costco and they even served smiley fries

Booked a table about 2 hours before arriving and was pleased that they had room for a family of 5 with short notice. Menu is limited, particularly on the steak front bearing in mind it is a steakhouse, but we all managed to order something we enjoyed. Food was really tasty and good portion sizes for my 2 teenage sons who are constantly hungry. Decor is a bit dated, but all part of being on holiday when you experience new things. Staff were pleasant so would recommend for others to try it out. Great to see free refills on soft drinks.

Recommended by family and not disappointed. Not an extensive menu but choices to suit all tastes. Being off the main “strip” prices for both food and drinks are very reasonable. Our server was great, a pleasant chatty girl who was excellent in all she did, a gem ! Food was good, drinks were good so after an enjoyable experience can only recommend.

This was not our first visit to Sandstone, and it definitely won’t be our last. Every time we are in Niagara Falls, we make a point of returning to Sandstone Grillhouse for dinner. Last evening was exactly as we had anticipated! We enjoyed the wonderful, efficient and friendly service from Tess. Our menu choice consisted of a delicious fresh Caesar salad, accompanied by scrumptious main courses. Hubby enjoyed succulent shrimp and scallops in a delightful creamy pasta sauce, and for myself a delightful Mediterranean Chicken entree topped with flavoursome goat cheese, and served on fresh vegetables and baby potatoes. Dinner was compiled with a slice of delectable cheese cake smothered in chocolate. All in all the perfect way to celebrate an Anniversary! I heartily recommend Sandstone Grillhouse!!

We decided on Sandstone as a great spot to celebrate my birthday. Upon arrival, they asked if we were celebrating anything special. The staff all wished me a happy birthday. Service was not rushed, and all dishes came out in a timely manner. The only error was delivering my filet minion medium-well instead of medium-rare. Our server was so apologetic and took the plate away. The result is my wife ate most of her dinner while I had to wait. When my steak finally arrived though, everything was perfect, hot and delicious and perfectly plated. After dinner, I got a complimentary dessert with a candle in it. All in all, a great celebration and we would return when we return to the Falls.

Great Service. I don't know about other people's experience but we got a very friendly and efficient server that day. Food quality not so great. They served my steak uncooked, I mean raw and cold inside, unbelievable. Owner came immediately took it away. Owners are not very friendly. I would not go back.
