I had lunch my first time there my server was very friendly Joyce, lovely menu. I had a lovely wine, a salad, and the organic trout my goodness that was so delicious. I actually couldn’t finish it all. A couple came in for lunch John and Jane we got to chatting their local people so they were recognized by the chef who popped out for a few minutes, I think John and Jane must’ve been angels. It was a a late birthday for me and they paid for my lunch my goodness I am Blown away so so surprised thank you hobnob Restaurant and a big shout out to John and Jane. I will tell my friends hope to see you there maybe next week.
This was singlehandedly the worst fine dining experience I have had in my 43 years on this earth. To say this is even fine dining would be to disgrace all of the other fine establishments along queen street and Niagara on the lake.
We were a larger party and were split into two tables with supposedly two waiters who were going to take care of us. We ordered drinks and then mains. It took 55 minutes for the mains to come out and they all came at different points, not at the same time ( first mistake ).
Most of us ordered the braised lamb. Note the word braised. It should be tender enough to fall off the bone with a fork. The meat should be juicy and rich, with a thick, flavorful sauce. This lamb , however was tough and gamey. It was accompanied by a "panzanella" salad which consisted of 85 percent croutons ,a sprinkling of some miserable root vegetables and a few slimy pieces of arugula. A disgraceful showing for a 55$ entree.
The server at our table was much more attentive then the guy with the bow tie and glasses ( forget his name but if I remembered he would be outed, because he actually deserves to be outed... Explanation to follow. Anyways, we were committed to this catastrophies so why not get dessert right ??? Right???
The dessert I chose was the "fudge sundae". the pathetic way it was presented and the way it tasted could only be described as below the standard of the dessert of what you would receive at Denny's. For 15$ you should be getting presentation and taste quality for the level of restaurant they purport to be.
The double espresso was equally inept. It came luke warm and watery. All for 8$.
Now on to the second waiter with bow tie. He didn't even bother to show up to our second table, but did manage to give us his full attention only when it came time to pay the bills... 2 and a half hours later. Someone who works in a "fine dining" establishment should take pride in their job , especially when they are serving other and especially so that they can earn a generous tip ( which we would have given if he had slightly given a damn). If he had put the energy into serving us the way he was trying to figure out whose bill was connected to which family, he would have given us a better experience and gotten a bigger tip. Instead he resorted to mediocrity and did the bare minimum.
And that's what you'll get at Hob Nob. Pathetic service , disastrous food (presentation , taste and quality) as well as a horrendous dining experience. So the take away is this: there is no reason anyone should ever go to this place for a "fine dining " experience unless you want to get totally ripped off and go away angered by the fact that somehow you ou spent 250$ for two and received an experience that is well below even that of restaurants of average quality. Places like Epicurian and Bistro 66 along the strip are miles better than this place and they don't purport to be fine dining establishments. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this tourist trap and go to Treadwell across the way.

amazing overall experience.
our waitress was so kind and helpful.
my elderflower gin and tonic was not too sweet but just right.
the starter of oysters were cold and fresh with the perfect pairs to with it.
my main of trout was awesome. very interesting with the sides being overly seasoned and the fish being not seasoned but it was still good!
the gnocchi was awesome and saucy and the cashews on top worked well.
for my birthday we got a free choice of deserts and i got the carrot cheesecake which was absolutely amazing and i would reccomend it to everyone!
awesome experience being here, i would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting NOTL

Lamb shank - incredible meat, comes with croutons/bread which wasn’t 10/10.
Beef - very good, potatoes were hashed-style, and they were to die for. Lots of veggies provided.
Pear and goji salad - very tasty, nutty, and perfectly sweet.
Atmosphere - very antiquated. Not the best vibe unless you are going for something historic.
Service - terrific. Very handsome and polite waiter.

We had a wonderful dinner last night at the Hob Nob restaurant, located in the charming Charles Inn.
The food & service was excellent, the restaurant is in an old, beautiful building with high ceilings and detailed mouldings.
The main courses were very good, the dessert was a brownie with ice cream that was perfect for sharing,we enjoyed it and will return again..

Our experience at this restaurant was awful from start to finish. When we arrived, three couples were already waiting at the front desk with no one in sight to seat us. Once seated, our server, who was working alone, assured us she wouldn't forget us, which should have been the first red flag.
We ordered a wedge salad (vegetarian, no prosciutto), bread, mussels, and fish tacos (without kimchi). It took an hour for our server to come and update us on what was happening with our food and reassuring us that it was coming. The server, though sympathetic, kept bringing items like salt and pepper, ketchup, and empty bowls, but still no food. It took a total of an hour and a half for us to receive our meals. It was an utterly bizarre experience and the server said there was a chef changeover, which I can only assume meant our orders were never placed and forgotten, or it was one chef cooking for the entire (not busy) restaurant.
When the food finally arrived, everything was wrong. The wedge salad ( a pathetic slice of iceberg lettuce that could be whipped up in 5 minutes) had both prosciutto and chicken, and the fish tacos came with kimchi. The mussels were subpar with far too many empty shells for the price point. The bread that was ordered to accompany the salad never made it to the table. Despite the server's apology and our entire meal being comped, the experience ruined our day, especially since I was showing guests around from out of country. Even with the free meal, the service was non existent, the food was below average, and I simply couldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone expecting timely service or proper dietary accommodations.

Lovely atmosphere and pleasant service, however, the cocktails were subpar and the dishes were very underwhelming. The dish I had lacked an important flavour ingredient listed on the menu. What I will say that is great, is that the location, though still on the main drag, is a block or two away from the other shops and restaurants, so it's not near as busy as the other eateries.

I recently had my lunch at the Hob Nob and was beyond impressed with my entire experience. There are several unique items on the menu to choose from and they are also creatively arranged.
Our meal was delicious and our server attentive and kind 🙏.
The ole town ambience of this restaurant added to the entire experience.
I highly recommend you try the Hob Nob

My wife and enjoyed a very nice dinner at Hobnob. Food was great, service excellent, the atmosphere is very nice and they have a good selection of wines from Niagara on the Lake wineries. Overall a fantastic experience.
Amazing experience for our first time in Canada! Coming from the states, this restaurant reminds us of a quaint New England town...just better in every way imaginable. Anna was an absolute dream of a waitress and made great conversations while suggesting food and wine which was spot on. This is at the end of town and does not have as much foot traffic as the other restaurants so no wait! Check this place out, you won't be disappointed!!!
