There were only 2 tables occupied, so why was I seated beside one of them ? Miso soup is not near as good as it used to be and neither is the sushi. Plating used to be spectacular. There used to be an assortment of teas, now, choice of 3. Since the Vintage Hotel chain took it over, it like everything else under their umbrella, is cheap, shoddy and lack luster. 6 pages of sake choices but only 2 for food. Profit, profit, profit. Was not pleased when I saw one of the chefs bring in a garbage can wearing plastic gloves and then prepared food. Never again, sadly.
Love the restaurant, have been there 4 times, every time I go to Niagara on the lake I'll visit. Great service and consistent food quality. Think it is the best Japanese restaurant in the area.
This is fine dining. Everything was delicious. I have two criticisms. We had reserved a table for two weeks in advance. The we arrived we were ushered past a table for two, to a mack dining room that was dark and lacked any vibe at all. Kind of like hey did not want us seen up front. And it was a table for four. OK, we had our table on time. But without the "experience" which they could have easily provided. The second thing was I ordered the lobster miso soup. It came with a lobster claw immersed in the soup, and a lobster cracking tool. I was supposed to fish the claw out of the soup, crack it apart, retrieve the meat. By the time I was able to accomplish this my hands were soaked the table was soaked and I could only get some of the meat out. A terrible way to serve this dish. Had they warned me in the menu that the lobster was serve IN the soup IN the shell I would have passed. The soup was delicious but the wrestling with the lobster was insane. AND the lobster was overcooked as well. We will return, but this is why the experience is not 5 stars all the way.
Best place in Niagara on the lake. My partner doesn't even like sushi but the chicken dish was great for him
We all loved it. Great sake experience too with a sake sommelier.

We had a lovely dinner at the sushi bar.
It’s not often enough that we find sushi restaurants run by Japanese chefs. Very happy to find this one.
Shared a lovely bottle of sake with our sushi & cod. Absolutely delicious!

The best sushi 🍣 great service
A great place to stop and eat while in Niagara on the Lake. We didn't want the standard pub fare or any of the pricier options further down the street, and this place offered very delicious food at a great price. Everything we had was top quality. We'll definitely be back next time we're here.

Warm, friendly service and delicious food, from the miso soup and tuna roll to the beef bowl. All was good. We went only for an appetizer and stayed for a full dinner. Highly recommended

While exploring the area, I came across this gem of a restaurant. The atmosphere is bright, clean, and modern, which instantly makes you feel comfortable.
The staff were welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect truly outstanding service. The menu has plenty to choose from, and every dish we tried was fresh, tasty, and thoughtfully prepared.
A great spot run by people who clearly care about their guests. Highly recommend stopping in!

The is the one restaurant we MUST visit whenever in NOTL. Don't let its below-street-level location fool you, spacious seating and amazing sushi awaits. Unbelievable sake list. Omakase is fantastic and take-out is highest quality.

Authentic Japanese experience in Niagara-on-the-Lake! Been to Tokyo/Osaka/Kyoto and this visit to Masaki Sushi rivaled the best of the restaurants in those cities. So happy to have eaten here as we didn’t have reservations but were seated quickly. The staff were so polite, and each of our selections tasted so good. Our tastebuds were so satisfied with each bite. Thank you for a wonderful experience, and will definitely come back for another visit!

We had a wonderful experience at Masaki. We have an autistic child who can be loud sometimes. When our family stopped by we didn't see any other kids and did not want to disrupt. The owner/manager urged us to stay and made us feel very welcome. The sushi was very good. Service was excellent. We had a great time thanks to their kindness.
