Recently moved to Niagara region and was in search of authentic Italian restaurant. The is not it for us.
The restaurant has no business charging what they do for pasta that is under seasoned, not even freshly made (my Italian grocery store has better dry pasta) not combined and almost overcooked. - all this about duck pasta- our party of 3 got 2 of those and one penne vodka which was actually nicely done. Sauces were balanced and flavourful in their own. Too bad the dish didn’t come together.
The only traditional nuance about this restaurant is ambiance and slow service.

Came with a family of 6 for dinner. The atmosphere seemed nice, but was quickly ruined by the flies landing on our food repeatedly. Food and drinks started off well with the appetizers, but then the entrees came and found a bone in the gnocchi bolognese which completely ruined the remainder of the meal. When we raised the issue to the waiter, he took the bone to the back to show the someone, then came back claiming it was just a stem from basil. I disagreed clearly as it was 100% a bone and the item was still left on the bill, no manager came over for apologies, very very rude. Everyone else’s food was decent but would not recommend going Twisted Vine to anyone.

Really enjoyed the rainbow trout fish cakes appetizer ! Our mains were good too... seafood pasta and pasta with duck confit. A lovely experience.... the cocktails were a tad weak....but overall a great experience.

Our appetizers were Caesar salad and Italian flatbread. The flatbread had figs, prosciutto, garlic and arugula. It was delicious. The Caesar salad was average and didn't have bacon and very little dressing. We had the Spaghetti Putanesca and Chicken parmesan. The Chicken parmesan consisted of a chicken patty not a breast. The sauce was excellent and the pasta cooked perfect. The Putanesca was tasty but heavy. Freshly grated cheese is a must. Served with powdered parmesan cheese.Service was attentive and knowledgeable.

I had the pleasure of dining at the Twisted Vine last night and it was delicious! I ordered the duck pappardelle and am looking forward to going back to order it again, I was tempted to lick the plate!

We had an amazing evening at Twisted Vine. Instead of eating at a touristy restaurant on the NOTL main street, we ventured ten minutes down the road to Virgil. Truly authentic Italian from an Italian chef. 10/10 for food and wine. Service was great and attentive. Take the trip to Virgil.

ITALIAN FOOD AT IT'S BEST! Truly an amazing place. Great ambiance with classic Italian music in the background. Highly recommend if you are in the mood for a twist of pasta and fine wines. Beautiful atmosphere and wonderful owner and staff. Buon appetito a tutti :)

I had high expectations for this restaurant, but I have to say the taste of the daily featured cod was a big letdown. It was underseasoned and nothing really stood out to me for that dish's $39 price tag. I mean the food is not bad but it is too expensive for what it is. The restaurant is also understaffed so there was a long wait for waiters during dinner time.

Had a wonderful dinner here last night. The premises are warm and inviting - reminded me of an Italian trattoria. The menu has a good selection of pastas and meat/seafood dishes - it was hard to make a choice. My wife had penne alla vodka, and I had sausage/rapini with roast vegetables and potatoes. Both were delicious and more than enough to satisfy our appetites. Their wine list has a number of imported and domestic wines from which to choose. The by-the-glass prices were much more reasonably priced than at many other local restaurants.Special mention of Eryn - she is one of the most personable and engaging servers that we have talked with in quite some time. I hope she is there when we return.
