The service is lackadaisical during happy hour, the drinks are definitely not upper scale. However the breakfast is better and the staff is efficient though the buffet is limited.

Got takeout during covid and the food was completely undercooked and inedible. Fries were rock hard and fish looked nothing like the online menu pictures. I assume this place makes all its money off tourists who dont know any better. Will not be coming back.

It's a great restaurant with very good food and super nice service. The menu is nice and short and the waiter was very polite and helpful. I would come back a third time if I could

Cafe Nicole is a bit hidden and tucked away from where the major restaurants and cafes are. It is located inside Novotel Hotel. And I should have known better to check reviews on Yelp before coming here for Summerlicious because there were actually none. From my past experiences, most of restaurants that are part of a hotel are usually underwhelming. And this was no exception. First, let's start with the reservation process. I was told to come in at 1 pm on a weekday when I tried to make reservation for a group of 6 for 12 pm because there's a group of 16 coming in for lunch at the same time. I'm guessing that's too much for the restaurant to handle? It sounded like they were inexperienced and don't get a lot of customers. In fact, there was only one staff handling all the tables and taking orders when we arrived. Food was terrible and did not look appetizing. Most of us ordered the Summer Salad from their Summerlicious menu thinking it would be very fitting and lovely for a sunny summer day. We were all very disappointed when the salad came. Nothing at all screamed Summer to us. The colours were very unappetizing to look at, not to mention it also tasted very bland even with apples in it. I ordered the hanger steak cooked in medium rare. But it arrived completely cooked. The red wine sauce was too salty and overpowering for the steak. Without the sauce, the steak would have been flavourless. My dish looked like something I could get from an University cafeteria. Fries look like Mcdonald's and do not look like fries you get from a hotel. My friend ordered the soba noodles because she is a vegetarian but was disappointed to find out that they've mixed in a lot of cilantro that was no indicated as an ingredient on the menu. She did not finish her plate. 3 of us had fries that came with our entrees but our server did not think to bring in or offer us ketchup. I thought that's pretty basic thing to have especially when we're dining in a hotel. We tried to signal/wave/stare/call our server but she was too occupied with other tables. We ended up grabbing the bottle of ketchup ourselves behind the bar. The service could definitely use some improvement and is a huge let down for a restaurant that's part of a hotel. Desserts were the best part of the meal. I had the roasted peach with mascarpone ice cream and it was refreshing. My friend raved about their butterscotch cheesecake and said it was the best cheesecake she ever had. Unfortunately, I would probably not come back again nor would I recommend.
