Recently tried this spot in our new neighborhood. Excellent food. High quality ingredients. Chicken was tender and flavorful. Beef quality was notably better than what most local Chinese restaurants in Markham serve. Not sure why their online reviews are low. Service at the front was also polite. Prices run higher than typical takeout, but the quality justifies it. Overall, impressed and will return.
P.s. The shrimp dumplings were one of the best shrimp dumplings I’ve ever tried and I’ve tried a lot

I recently tried to make a reservation at Pearl Bayview Village, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. When we called ahead, the woman who answered the phone—who I believe is the owner—was extremely curt and ended up hanging up on us mid-conversation. It left a really negative impression before we even arrived.
As for the food, I’d rate it about a 5/10. It’s passable, but not memorable, and certainly not enough to make up for the uncomfortable customer service experience. Based on how we were spoken to, it felt as though customers who aren’t Chinese may not be treated with the same level of courtesy, which made the interaction even more unpleasant.
This is a neighbourhood spot, and I really wanted to like it, but after this experience, I don’t feel inclined to return or recommend it. Customer service matters, and in this case it simply wasn’t there.

The dimsum here, though expensive, are excellent, the best I have had in Toronto recently. The sticky rice in lotus leaf is very large and stuffed with meat, the har gow full of shrimp. Both are great. The soup dumpling is less good, but everything else I've tried is fresh and just great, as is the service. And there's lots of parking.

Horrible dim sum! Har gow and rice noodle roll too sticky, bad flavour, even the sauce wasn’t good. The seafood udon wasn’t too bad though. Avoid this place if you want good dim sum!
The lady at the cashier, probably she is owner, is very rude and disgruntled. I was there recently to eat, and the delivery guy came. She was very rude. I won't go there again.

After so many years of loving Pearl and going for dim sum almost weekly, first at Harbourfront and then for many years at Bayview Village (now York Mills) we had two back-to-back negative experiences with the chain and will not be returning. We were served RAW shrimp har gao and, not only was it raw, but it looked like there was something wrong with it. The week before we had been to the Yonge St. location and there was an inch worm in the snow pea leaves. This was a little more passable than the raw shrimp since these things can happen (the leaves and worm were green). The shrimp there were cooked but also had grey spots on them. Definitely going to look for a new dim sum spot.
Excellent service and nice atmosphere. Sadly the food was overpriced and lacking. Squid tentacles were mushy instead of crispy and filled with oil. Shrimp toast was filled with oil. The rice noodle was thick and had and the texture was off. Nice big pieces of shrimp but overall not very impressed with the food. Not worth it for the price.

The owner of this restaurant is absolutely a witch! When we were paying the bill, we realized she had sneakily overcharged each of us by $5 for 'tea seating fee.' Then, when I asked for the official receipt (the one that includes the tip), they only gave me a copy without the tip and kept insisting, 'We can’t give you that one.' But I stood my ground and demanded the full receipt since I had already paid the tip. The owner looked at me with utter contempt—her attitude was disgusting. With service like this, she should just retire already. Why bother humiliating herself in public?

The Peking duck here is really good. Spicy salt pork chops and veg were also delicious. Fish had a strong fishy taste, which was a bit disappointing. Service was good. Comes off as a higher end place with nice ambience. Prices were significantly higher than most Chinese restaurants in the GTA though.
