Truly our favourite Japanese sushi restaurant in Toronto, and possibly in Canada. It’s the combination of the quality of food and attentiveness by staff that move this restaurant well above others. Don’t let the “look” of the restaurant fool you - it’s outstanding and locals agree. The ingredients are always outstanding. Say hi to Chef Jiharu if you’re there. It’s a small restaurant so reservations are a must.
Remember to make reservations. The restaurant is small and cozy. The fish is always super fresh! I love the seared mackerel and volcano roll. The shrimp sushi was also delicious as they deep fry the shrimp head which makes it edible.

The sushi was decent, aside from the red snapper tempura and miso soup which was great, everything else was an average sushi experience. The nigiri was very different with a heavy fish to rice ratio serving very thick slices of fish. Not to my preference but if you are a sashimi person I’m sure you’d love it!
